Monday MMA: Flipping/Leg Trapping. Opponent is down with feet on your hips as defense, and you scoop them ankles up forcing a super awkward yoga pose and turn to a side and pin a leg then drop punches or pass to side control.
Extra Stuff :Frankenstein footwork drill I stole from Phil Norman Ghost Fighting System. Partner 1 walks like a zombie or Frankensteins monster with stiff arm stalking the opponent in the ring and the partner 2 moves , ducks under, pivot, and get’s out of the way. **no striking involved
Tuesday Boxing: I completely forgot the combinations. I recall a switch transition with a hook. Light body sparring. Training partner improving tremendously with footwork and angling. My weakness is that overhand right especially when people step forward with it (opponent traditional me southpaw)
Wednesday MMA: Thai Leg kick warm ups. 1-2-5 rear leg kick. More kicks on bag.
Extra Stuff: Free rolling, I got jammed by a wrestler and eventually got mount but took forever and the round ended. I got caught in heel hook and d’arce. I need heel hook defense BAD.
Thursday Boxing: Baby boxing warm-up just tag boxing to gauge reaction. I pulled from southpaw 1-5-3-2-6 on someone and tagged them like 3 in a row.
C--c-c-combo breaker.
Very fun. I also experimented with bouncing-juke-style-rhythm-breaking foot work (inspired by Dominick Cruz)
Combo of the day 1-6-2-3 Coach said my end 3 was lethal. I visualized my old MMA coach who had a beastly Tyson-like hook and it helped. Heavy bagwork inside punches, stiff jabs, distance punching.
Extra Stuff: Yoga session before boxing. Bosu ball warmup before my yoga session. I stand on the flat part of the bosu ball and warm up my hips and pretend I’m surfing. I also do irregular squat patterns on the platform and basically just dance and free flow to wake up the spine. Total improvised wiggly motion of most of my joints. I also include some passive hangs on a pull up bar and improvise SAFE movements/muscle ups on the pull up bar.
