She’s only here through August because she goes to school in Nebraska but I’m going to Miami in September and I now have a lotta babysitters’ contact info so if I need help every so often, I’ll call one of them

But the girl I hired Is 100/10 the best and I felt comfortable with her, like I could speak without a huge filter because we understand eachother

She’s studying to be a special needs teacher and came over with a binder of lessons for Sky and I was so impressed. The interview was us taking the kids on a walk to DD and back, which I had never done a “walking interview” before but I think it was a good idea!! Less awkward than just observing them in your house lol

- signed Sky up for a hybrid soccer & baseball program 1/week and she’s excited 🥹

- 3 more nanny interviews today, I had 3 duds so far

- found out that my GPA from college is high enough to apply for my Masters in SW 🙌🏽 (graduated 2016, after 5 years of family & financial instability and my grades were not good in maths/sciences like Chem)

- I have a meeting with an academic advisor for my masters program today

- tough to find a gym with childcare, but I will persevere

- I’ve had a blank TikTok that I did not use for years, finally got the ⚽️🏀⚾️ to start posting just my unfiltered content re: motherhood, PMDD, body acceptance, etc and it feels good. I don’t care what comes of it, but it’s good for me to do it. I can feel it.

Had the most disappointing nanny interview today, good lord in heaven

Last time too many of the kids in her group were like feral animals that just created constant chaos

She went 2 days this week and will probably continue until end of summer & tomorrow I’ll take her to sign up for pottery / art classes

I tried to convince her to take BJJ but she is anti-any type of fighting apparently 😆

Going to see if she wants to add acting / singing classes OR soccer to her schedule

This was my second touchscreen (my first lasted 3 years but they’re so cheap I didn’t care too much)

But one year???? That’s insane

Its out for delivery but Kevin is really pushing me to go back to Apple (my last mac broke in 2021ish but I wasn’t working at the time and didn’t want to drop so much $$$) and I think I’m going to do it

I can’t explain it but I didn’t like her energy AT ALL and having her around me for 4 hours made my skin crawl

She had a dark energy, I didn’t love her tone when correcting the kids, she seemed annoyed that Atlas wanted to walk around the house and she had to follow him, I could tell she was not going to be able to patiently deal with Sky’s ADHD, especially if I’m not around I can see this girl yelling.

It was supposed to be 5 hours but I couldn’t take it and I found an excuse to cut the day short.

She is 18 and Latina as well, and after she heard me chatting to my Mimi in Spanish she was like, “oh, are you like half or something??”

I'm so excited for this card! I "only" have to spend $4k in 3 months (I'm vvv responsible with my cards, I always pay them off or keep balance low because credit bureau doesn't want to see you with 0% all the time) and I get 75k airmiles

I currently have about 120k via AA and Kevin has another 100k via his business card but I hate being locked into AA and their partners (I've had my Citi Platinum card for 11 years and my Chase Sapphire for 2) so I am stoked about having the freedom to book via Capitol One's travel portal.

Even though there is a $395 yearly fee, all of the travel credits, yearly bonuses, etc that we will definitely use have it come out to $5/yr after the first year (which I only get charged $99 for the first year)

I also have access to the Capitol One airport lounge and that brings my anxiety down by a lot when it comes to international travel -- we can always have a place to chill with the kids if there's a delay or hours long waits between connections. I have never been in a lounge before so I'm excited AF!!

I would estimate 80% of these clothes were thrifted via Thred Up and it's the only reason why I have a FULL warm + cold weather wardrobe.

From SUPER cute 10-15$ dresses to an amazing Lucky Brand Teddy bear style, full length coat with tags that was $60 for NY winters

I also go to the Ross that is a 5-min walk from my building in Miami and I have snagged a few pieces for under $10 too

I've probably spent like $100ish on Amazon but it's really only when I cannot find what I want on ThredUp (I.e a canvas bag I wanted for my Toronto day trip, a very versatile summer top that was 50% off and so effing cute, etc).

I didn't invest in new clothes after Sky because I was so ashamed of my body and didn't want to buy new clothes + Covid lockdowns, so I wore tshirts and yoga pants e v e r y w h e r e for 3 years

The last 2 sitters I hired (and were amazing) are blonde and blue eyed

One of them (my top contender) is also blonde and blue eyed 😅😅😅

I’m so confused???? They just all happen to be the most bubbly and energetic looking and I need those qualities for Sky — my daughter NEEDS someone who can run and jump and keep up

I feel so bad but the subdued ones who are all shy and walking on eggshells… I cannot give my spunky 5yo someone like that to hang with lol she needs someone witty and athletic

so many emotions - I felt so bad for my Mimi to have to drop us off at the airport and be sad because we were only there 1 month

i know this is the right place to be though. all of sky's cousins came out to the street of our cul-de-sac to saw hi to sky because they were so excited that she's back - I wanted to cry

had my first nanny interview this AM and shes coming by for a trial day on Monday - she seems great!

gotta reach out to my PMDD PhD acquaintance that goes to Columbia and pick her brain and figure out how I can volunteer for the PMDD group she runs

Kevin was already accepted by an NYU PhD student to run a meditation study completely on his own and he's so excited!! We are both pursuing higher degrees to become therapists; him a PhD and me a Masters in Social Work
