Kaoru jerked awake quite suddenly, his breath coming in heaves as his blurry vision came into focus. Mind still heavy with sleep the young man pushed a hand full of brilliant auburn hair out of his face as his gaze flashed around the all too familiar room. The white walls and the gleaming tile floors nauseated the boy almost as much as the overwhelming stink of cleanliness. Throat thick with tension and anxiety he let out a single croaked word,
Biting his lip he pulled the covers back, as long as he and his twin were together.. They would be okay.. Gripping the sheets tightly as his legs dangled over the edge of the none-to-comfy mattress he turned to the blank screen that soon came to life with noise and color... and a very bored man.
"Hello.. Welcome back to Hive City. As you probably remember..."
He had to swallow back the bile rising in his throat...
Sweat beaded on the teenagers skin..
Panic flooded his chest, his heart and lungs felt as if they were bursting as a million thoughts and questions rose and flooded his mind.
His breaths came in gasps, he could just tell... He could tell Hikaru wasn't here.. He felt as if he'd lost a vital part of him, not an organ, not it felt as if the boy had lost his soul.
The anxiety didn't leave as a million different thoughts swarmed through his skull like a thousand furious hornets.
What am I going to do without Hikaru?
How am I going to survive here without him?
What if I never see him again?
In his turmoil the young man found his way to the door which slid open with a his, covered in sweat with bloodshot eyes he stepped into the sunlight. Last time he'd been here he had only been alone for a couple of minutes
He was supposed to be the strong one, the one able to handle himself emotionally, but with all the emotions raging inside him he wasn't sure.. He was always there to help Hikaru when he got upset and vice versa but who was here to help him now as he stood outside, the picture of panic, staring at the sidewalk.
Forcing himself to stand upright he pushed his hair out of his face once more and sniffed...
He hadn't realized he'd been crying..
"Hikaru.." The boy had never felt quite this alone.
