i’ve played double bass since i was 10. my earliest awareness of the double bass was a beautiful, dark instrument on my dad’s jazz albums covers and the deep, stirring sound from the records within …

Via Flickr: The reception/whoop up party for the wedding I shot on Halloween was Saturday at the Anza Club. Graeme and Cruella continued their ace party thrower ways by booking some great acts for the night. Perrenial favourites Blind God (seen here at another gig a couple years ago), friends Bob’s Lounge and, headlining, local Rockabilly survivors Butch Murphy and the Bloody Miracles. Fun was had. Here, Phil Addington of the Bloody Miracles lays down the backbone in his steady fashion.
