Week 3. I did more than just drawings this time (I tried voxels! I might do more), but I “missed” a day because I tried a video editing project and it turned out too embarassingly bad to post. Regardless, I learned from it.

Also, Pokémon is a very easy fallback to me, it seems! The gameplay may have gotten old to me, but the flavor never does. ‘s always fun to remix

I started trying to make at least one piece of art every day. I intended to post the first 7 days as soon as I made them, but I entirely forgot (for a whole week) and now I’m seriously worried about my perception of the passage of time!
(I’m giving up on my old tag system because nobody cares about me keeping all of my canons organized. I’m just gonna post stuff and will figure it out later if I have to)

I semi-abandoned my tumblr because I guess I don’t like posting art here as much, I feel more pressure. Ah well, here’s some original design concept doodles I posted on my twitter. In order:

the version on the right is a little closer the original I guess (left has a neck and more gooey skin)
the idea is that the cephalopod/jelly skin droops down so they have bigger hips. The tentacles also point down at first and must be lifted
Hopefully these characteristicts still should allow for plenty of variation (maybe I should draw a chubbier one later), and most importantly be compatible with Mina’s current design

This game has been in development for 5 years, but it’s finally time! Or, well, almost time. Copy Kitty’s Steam page is up, and it’s set for release on Early Access August 11th! Here we go!

Apparently lotsa people hate the art of Base Set Gastly? I wanted to make people love it, so here.
Devamping random pokémon is a fun exercise, when you shrink the resolution you have to figure out which details are worth making bigger and more prominent and which details are to be simplified.
I got sloppy on some of the drawings (I should not have made my brush size so small for meloetta), but I knew I’d fix it all in the sprite version.
(Shoot, I didn’t sign these, they’ll prolly get stolen on tumblr. Ah well, I’m not super-attached. Hopefully I’ll actually draw something worth keeping soon.)
