1990s California in Taito’s plane of existence is amazing. A world where some dude dyes his mohawk pink before robbing Beverly Hills jewelry stores with his friends in some convertible low-rider hoopty. These may be the happiest characters in fiction: they know what they want (rangs), they achieve their goals, and they do it together. Some day I wish to be so confident and motivated as to make my arms move in wild, single-frame bursts. The employee at the end is so distraught over it, he watches them drive away, clawing at his scalp over the fact that he worked and worked to wear that red jacket and white shirt, thinking it would bring happiness, only to see that true happiness is ANY jacket and NO shirt. He’s wasted so many years.
