Sorry I didn’t reply to this sooner, I didn’t realize I had an ask! You can search tumblr for icon borders, and then do what I did, which is stretch it out by duplicating layers and erasing what I don’t need. Or you can go to Image→ Canvas Size, then add a few more pixels to the image. Make sure that the image is anchored in the center by pressing the black circle in the middle of the arrows. Then press OK. This gives you room to play with the color of the border, or you can even add a texture and move the layer behind the image, so that the border isn’t just a block color.

I’ve been using this method with a lot of my icons, as I feel like it gives a cleaner look. Like this: 

I found quite a few things for this actress, but it was for when she was a lot younger. I only used the Dark Matter stuff, so if you want anything earlier, just let me know and I’ll edit this to include everything.
