rolling his eyes at the explanation given, arnon barely gave the other time to finish before he scoffed loudly in disgusted amusement. “oh sure. yeah, he sounds like a real swell guy. totally an upstanding citizen. look, anyone who thinks they’re high and mighty enough to enslave another being into being a sex toy with a pulse is definitely not an example of a good guy. if you weren’t aware of that, surprise! you’re welcome.” he couldn’t quite believe the simplicity in which the other spoke about such topics. arnon could feel his blood boiling with each passing second. stockholm syndrome took many forms, apparently. chucking his cigarette to the ground, arnon took a moment to reassess the situation: he couldn’t afford to get too mouthy outside his place of employment. it wasn’t as if emerson was running short of reasons to fire him and he did kind of need a regular salary.
a light laugh escaped the halfling at the mention of spring mischief’s endless joys. stupidly, he’d thought he’d done well to avoid being caught in the crossfire of that particular mess. not even his villager status protected him from the insanity that had somehow managed to spill past the castle’s walls. “shouldn’t your precious councilman be taking care of you? you’re out here singing his praises and he can’t even fuck you right? doesn’t sound like a fair deal to me.” holding the other’s gaze, arnon considered the various outcomes of such a proposition before smirking to himself. “tell you what, handsome, if you’re still desperate enough to come begging in the streets to be treated right after this spring mischief shtick is over, you know where to find me. you’re not laying a hand on me until i can make sure it’s something you actually want and not just 'cause you're under the effect of something freaky. you’ve gotta show me you deserve it.”
@dorian-ammann
Where Dorian had started out finding this villager rather amusing, and he was willing to admit, beautiful in his own unique way, Dorian was now furrowing his brows together, or Laz's brows together for that matter. He was very much wearing out his appeals. The implication that he was somehow some awful creature despite the fact this child had no clue who he was, and that he assumed anything about his and Laz's relationship was infuriating.
"Arnon was it?" Looking around the village at the shop he had come from, he nodded his head. "Dorian was turned into a hybrid Vampire by a very powerful witch, who has many connections within the magical community. I will make sure she is aware that so long as this place employs you, she and none of her close associates will utilize their services. We'll also be making sure that when your boss wonders why, they know it was because one of their employees didn't have the common courtesy to know when he was crossing a line. Of course, I hope there are no hard feelings, but you've gotta show me you deserve any kind of second chance."
