In Altisadora’s narrative, devils play court tennis using books as balls / Don Quixote makes a formal declaration that he was not the hero of the false Second Part of Don Quixote by Avellaneda of Tordesillas.

Sancho whips himself to break the spell cast on Dulcinea.

The Don decides to become a shepherd during the year in which he is forbidden to bear arms / Sancho and the Don overwhelmed by the pigs.

The two adventurers turn homeward dejectedly.
