Molding Minds

It is. Are you giving it to someone special? it seems like that kind of gift, you know?

Oh. Well, I've been kind of thinking about maybe, um. Giving it to someone, yes.

"This is neat! Where ever did you get it?"

Down in one of the shops! Someone must have pawned it off because I've never seen another like it. I thought it was beautiful.

"Y'know, my pa had a philosophy 'bout trespassers."

"That seems a bit rash, wouldn't you say?"

Oh? Doyle, you don’t have to be so kind!! I’m sure there are other things you’d rather be doing than getting a bite with me.

Well I can't think of a single one...

-She takes his hand and grins at him- Yes, lets! I’m very excited!

As am I! Maybe afterwards we can get something to eat? It's on me.

Or maybe that’s the point of it, just think about it, in our attempt to keep still we end up cracking up and that’s when the artist captures our true smiles… oh I’m so excited about this Doyle! We need to get one of both of us together too!

Oh, that's very clever! That'd be beautiful. So we'll get three? One of each of us and then one together? Or would you like two together and we can decide which one each of us gets?

-She blushes- Oh, why thank you Doyle! Yours would be quite handsome!

It would be so much fun, but do you think we need to stay still for long? We both know that doesn’t work out for us…

Oh, lord, I hope not. Maybe we can take breaks! Or maybe it's faster than portraits? Either way, if not I'm sure we can attempt to scold each other into staying still. At least then we wouldn't stop laughing!

It is true, but I’m not sure why you would want a face like that drawn. 

I hope so! I would love to get one!

Really? You'd do that?

"Oh, no. I dunno. I just kind of… float. I like to draw the flowers, and some of the critters in the park. Sometimes I draw my friends, but I’m far too embarrassed to show them."

"That's a great gift to have. It must help when you're stressed to be able to let it out somewhere."
