DOPBEATS "The Journey"

I find myself, sometimes, getting weary of the daily grind that is the music industry. Not of the music, but of the business side of it.

Since I am independent in the industry, I have to do my own business work.

For example...I have to contact promoters, put together a media package, monitor and mediate my social media daily (like updating my facebook, twitter, tumbler, blogger, and reverbnation status every single chance I get), network and obtain industry contact info, schedule my own shows...whew *inhale*...conduct my own research (musical research as well as business research), establish and manage a separate business bank account, manage my copyrights, and much, much more.

Plus, since I don't have enough money yet to pay someone to do it for me, I had to learn how to engineer, mix, and master my own music...all-the-while holding down a fulltime dayjob.

I'm not complaining. No. On the contrary. Without these experiences and paying my dues, I would not have appreciated what I have accomplished and WILL accomplish. I now know much more than I did before.

So, yes. It gets tiring sometimes, but I gotta keep grindin', knowing that greater things are in store...because I am working for myself and my family. And that is ALL the motivation I need.

Before my son eats or drinks ANYTHING from a restaurant, it has been tasted and tested by either me or his mother. Don't let restaurants serve your kid booze. Also, "I didn't know" or "I just gave my child what they served him" won't work as a defense in court. Check your child's drinks, food, medicine, etc. Check your child's "EVERYTHING". Do your research. Protect them.
