Man, “Black people became associated with mediocrity via targeted misinformation about our history. The Tuskegee Airmen are some of the most decorated and awarded veterans in the military but if you remove their story from the air force academies you can perpetuate the myth that black people aren’t competent enough to fly a plane properly. Charles Drew invented modern blood banking and saved thousands of lives during the war but if you challenge black history curriculums in schools, you can tell people that DEI is the only way a black person can become a doctor. Mark Dean is the reason you can connect hardware to your gaming PC but if nobody knows who he is, you can call black characters in video games forced diversity. Media representation isn’t just about fiction and fantasy. It’s acknowledgment of the many accomplishments black people have pioneer throughout history. Don’t let those stories systematically removed and stigmatized or they will be replaced with a lie that we are not qualified.”
