The heir had spent the rest of the afternoon packing a small napsack for a trip out into the ruins of the city. He had enough food that could last him maybe four days if rationed well. Tooth brush and toothpaste- even if society had crumbled Togami’d be damned if his hygiene would falter. He had medicine and bandages- supplies for himself if he were injured, or Naegi if the boy turned up in the same state as the swimmer had.
The bag lay haphazardly tossed on one of the plush chairs in the makeshift office. The blond certainly wasn’t thrilled at the idea of going out on this expedition- but there was no other choice, and no time to waste. With the state the swimmer had come back in and with the other two still missing… there was no telling what the Parade was capable of- or if they even had set traps…
He sighed as he looked up and noted the gradual darkening of his room. The sun was starting to set in the distance, which meant the swimmer was likely to arrive at any moment. Well if she was to show up he wasn’t about to send her back to her room in darkness. He pulled open one of his drawers and withdrew a small candle. It was fortunate enough that the heir had managed to find several, true, he’d also found some flashlights, but with only a limited supply of batteries he thought it foolish to waste them on such a device.
After setting the candle in a small tin holder he quickly drew a match, giving his gradually darkening room a small flicker of light to provide a dim light. He set the candle on the counter as he heard a gentle knocking at his door. The heir pulled the door open quickly and nodded, pulling the door wider to allow her in.
"Very well. If you would like to take a seat we may discuss further…?"
Asahina found the seat with his bag. With her left hand she picked it up, her body falling into the chair comfortably. "Still planning on leaving?" she made a face, but not before she placed the bag onto her lap.
The candle lit room was far from romantic. The tension from earlier in the day still there. This was probably going to be one of the most important decisions of her life. Knowing she had given herself enough time to think it over. It seemed as if it would be now or never for her.
"i'll do it."
Her finger tips idly played with the strap of his bag. "I thought it over. It really seems like i'll never get another chance like this. Who knows if you'll even come back from god knows where you're going?" Sighing, she used her free hand to rub her cheek. "I don't really have anything else to say about it. Just know i've decided to accept. "
