Hello

Lately I have been struggling with jealousy. It is a trait I have dealt with for years to varying degrees… jealous of my siblings and the time they get with my parents, my son loves his dad more than me. These I have had years and years of practice overcoming the irrational thoughts that sneak in to my mind. But, more recently as I have started dating I have had a new experience from which to learn.

I am grateful for wise friends that have dealt with this challenge before sharing their ideas on strategies to quiet the mind and emotions.

First, it is OK to feel jealous. I prefer not feeling jealous. But it is OK if I do. I don’t have to be perfect; an emotionless robot. Jealousy is a normal human experience that we all feel to varying degrees.

A few strategies that were suggested are: -practice mindfulness -practice acceptance -Identify the belief around the thought and reframe it (an example is I am worthy) -seek to meet my needs

A potential idea is to write the new belief and a list of evidence supporting that belief.
