When it comes to me, the flames of your belongings are the only fire that ever burned for you. I am much too deep of a person for your shallow-treading legs to endure. I am much too strong for your weak arms to hold. I cannot slow down to keep up with your pace. I refuse to quiet my soul so that your voice sounds a bit louder. I won’t waste my time to be put hours behind. I know who I am and I know that you will never be good enough for me. I know this because you are still convinced that I’m the villain in all of this. Your tic-tac brain cannot fathom how much more devastating I could be if I were the villain. If I wanted to rip you to shreds, I would’ve come armed with my paper-shredder tongue. I could destroy you with words alone, and leave you recalling my name whenever anything even slightly hurts you. I am no villain. I am a woman who was afraid of a man who did nothing but take from me. Luckily, I can build faster than you can thieve, and in the end, I am still walking away flourishing. Have a nice life, and know that I spent a lot of time making sure I left as the better half. If that makes me cold, at least your shit is keeping me warm.
