we're heading towards some record setting humidity this summer so JUST A REMINDER that if you're in any way prone to migraines, this weather is great at triggering them! Be EXTREMELY diligent about staying hydrated if you're going out, EVEN TO AN AIR CONDITIONED SPACE, and ESPECIALLY if you are drinking any alcohol at all! even a single glass of wine or a cocktail! You will feel fine for an hour or two but then you will NOT FEEL FINE. If you have a headache that isn't responding to painkillers and it gets noticeably worse when you move or change elevations (sitting to standing, not like, going to the mountains) then drink a full glass of water and go lie down in a cool, quiet, dark room until it passes! DO NOT LOOK AT A SCREEN UNTIL THE DANGER HAS PASSED. I know you're bored but it could be so much worse!

I see this is going around again! Happy Migraine Season everybody! Remember to keep a damp washcloth in your freezer so that if you feel the migraine coming on you can lay down and press it against your forehead and temples to give yourself a better chance of ducking it before it's too late!

also another thing i hate how people have been treating america lately. it feels like such taboo to be from america due to the politics and all of the bad things, when we rarely recognize the good things as well. i think our culture is actually fucking incredible and while most of us read it as hamburgers and football games i actually think that there's something so special in the american traditions of cook-outs and tailgates and the community that develops from these. and parades and state fairs and county fairs and bonfires and city-wide easter egg hunts and community potlucks and prom and watching shitty middle school plays and of course football and hamburgers as well. fuck you and the fact that you only ever associate yourselves with the worst of america. i fucking love attending the county fair every year to eat food with people i dont know. i love singing along to sweet caroline even though its an ass song with hundreds of strangers. i love being so fully a part of a community. i hate my president and my senator and the entire house but i love my neighbor. amen.

"There are no real ways to tell if something was written by AI so don't even try!" might be true for like, random small snippets of unsourced text you find online that's not really about much of anything, so it can't be fact-checked and there’s not enough text for something about it to feel off, but I think it's clear the piss on the poor reading comprehension site can't fathom that some people are actually better readers and writers than they are lol, and can often tell something is AI slop by the way it’s written with its lack of real content and thought and its weird ass tone (and honestly I haaaate when people go "don't say that a tell of AI writing is awkward language because what about ESL speakers!" because I work with ESL speakers constantly and there's a difference between the registers of ESL speakers and LLM text; the "errors" a human brain makes when speaking one language due to having grown up learning another set of grammar rules and language norms still look different than an LLM using weird language because it has no personality, can't think, and can only shit out words that it’s programmed to see as statistically likely to come next. Like, these people clearly don’t know what ESL speakers actually sound like! Stop using second language learners to defend the honor of plagiarism machine lol)
