Man why are there so many stories with elves where they are being slaughtered en masse or being genocided or otherwise leaving the world it's such a bummer

Man every time I read people's (redditors) opinions about elves in the witcher books (franchise I guess) I get psychic damage

After finishing Netflix Witcher season 2 years ago, having hated it even more than season 1, I have now started watching Blood Origin (I'm at episode 3 out of 4) and I think it's really bad, but man, seeing people on reddit complain about the show is so exhausting. How is it that the show is so incredibly bad (in my opinion) yet most vocal critics of it are so annoying to me? Maybe it's because l looked on reddit, that's probably my first mistake.

I hope Francesca can finally find a bear soon, this is getting ridiculous

I'm rereading the Witcher books right now and I'm just continuously blown away at how good these are. The prose, the voice, the world, the plot, the themes, the CHARACTERS??? Sapkowski is a fucking genius, make no mistake about that. And to think that I even preferred the Hussite books over the Witcher, I need to reread those too, to see if that judgement still holds up.

Is it scioa'tael or scoia'tael? It's confusing because it seems like different media use different terms

I feel like I really like the idea and aesthetic of elves, but I almost never see live action elves that look good. The only live action media I can think of with good-looking elves is Lord of the Rings. I don't know why the ones in i.e. the Witcher show look so unconvincing to me.

Done with Seasons of Glass and Iron! What can I say? There is some really good stuff in there. Amal El-Mohtar is really becoming one of my favourite authors. I loved this, I loved The River Has Roots, I loved This Is How You Lose the Time War. Just an incredible writer.

I haven't watched the handmaid's tale show, and I don't particularly have anything against it, but it is quite annoying how the handmaid's tale tag is completely clogged up with discussions of a TV show I don't care about whatsoever. where's my literature discussions. that book was incredible.

I actually didn't think the Handmaid's Tale was gonna be THAT good. Goes to show that sometimes books become extremely famous and beloved for a reason.

One thing about me is that if a fantasy story has elves, I will always be rooting for them. I don't care if they're war criminals, elves are awesome and I love them
