001. keep your personal life, dr or cr, to yourself.

i kinda knew this when i made the account, but i'm really glad i stuck to it now.

i've never been the type of person to talk about myself too much to other people, and i really don't like talking about my drs to others. i've seen tooooooo many shifters have their drs used against them or exploited after they spoke "too much" about it (which shouldn't even be a problem, let people talk about their drs without worrying about their safety????).

also, i don't have any immoral or weird drs that i'm not telling you guys about, i quite literally just refuse to talk about my personal life on an online forum. i can't and i won't i can't and i won't 💔.

002. shifters are creative, and scripting is fun!

i can't tell you how hard it was for me to script before i made this account 😖 genuinely felt like pulling teeeeeeeeth. but after i gave shiftblr a chance, i met so many amazing shifters who had so many amazing ideas on what to script and shit, i literally cannot stop scripting!!!

once you find a theme or idea that fits the dr you want, it's like a whole new world of aesthetics that you can try out for scripting . i definitely recommend it!

003. be empathetic.

after living so many lives different from my own in my cr, i realized that i should be more empathetic . you never know what someone is going through (i know, i know, but you seriously don't) and you need to be understanding of everyone no matter the situation.

sometimes we jump to conclusions about things we aren't totally sure of, or we take the side of whoever we like more, but believe me when i tell you, having a negative rumor about you sucks. having a negative AND untruthful rumor sucks even more. and having a negative AND untruthful rumor told by millions of people? sucks the mosssttttt.

004. you can't please everyone.

no matter how hard you try, you will never please everyone. there will always be someone who doesn't like you, and it took me a really long time to realize that, that was fine.

obviously you can script that the whole world loves you and thinks your perfect and blah blah blah, but other than that? you're on your own. it took me so long as an artist to get over the fact that not everyone would be completely blown away by my talent and my art, and i had to learn to accept that.

005. shifting isn't everything.

i put this point last because i assume it'll be the most controversial, but shifting isn't everything. i'm not just saying that because i've shifted countless times, i'm saying that because it really isn't.

i guess i kiiiiinda put shifting on a pedestal when i first first firstt found out about shifting, but ever since my first shift? absolutely not.

i think shifters put shifting on a pedestal because it's "niche" (lowk hate that word but it fits) and not very common to see someone do in their everyday life. if shifting was as common as easy it is, there'd be no pedestal to put it on.

01. The actual shift. I feel like a lot of shifters don't talk about the fact that, when you shift, it doesn't feel like a shift, in the sense of the way the Internet describes it. It's literally like a switch. No fireworks, no golden ticket winning moment, just here, then there. 

02. If you're famous/an idol in your DR, you're gonna have to work. I think a lot of K-pop shifters or fame shifters in general think that they're just gonna be famous and nothing else when they shift to their DR's. It's only gonna be like that if you're a Nepo baby or married into fame. It's actually gonna be stressful sometimes, you're actually gonna get stopped by paparazzi, and fans are gonna stop you and ask for photos, even when you're having the worst day ever.

getting pet and calling it your guys son/daughter/or whatever else you like.

never asks if you're cold, just notices and takes it off his jacket and puts it around you before you've even said anything.

waking up already in their arms, them still asleep, the morning light coming in.

doing tiktok challenges together.

their completely whipped for you. genuinely does not look at other people the way everyone else does. they can be in rooms full of objectively attractive people and their eyes always on you.

a random photo booth somewhere neither of you planned on stopping. the photo strips lives on both your phones and one of you put it on their phone case.

when you feel insecure they don't try to argue you out of it or tell you you're wrong for feeling it they just go through every single thing they love about you like they've had the list memorized for a while.

them sharing their umbrella it's raining harder than either of you planned for and they pull out an umbrella and hold it over you without hesitation—except it's slightly too small for two people so they keep it tilted toward you the whole time.

never having to worry about money

sharing clothes their hoodie ends up on you so often it barely feels like theirs anymore, and they never ask for it back. sometimes you catch them smiling when they see you in it like they put it there on purpose even if they didn't.

hugs from behind: you're in the middle of something and you feel their arms come around you from behind before you even hear them. no announcement, no reason.

they just rest their chin on your shoulder or the top of your head and stay there. they just needed to be close to you and that was the fastest way to do it.
