Basically, the bill does two things–It requires the parents’ written permission for any trans or questioning child to receive any treatment for gender dysphoria, including receiving any educational material, and it mandates that if any government agent has knowledge of a child being transgender, that they immediately notify the parents in writing. 

These mandates apply even if custody of the child has been transferred or shared with a guardian other than the parents. 

This will result in the abuse and possibly even murder of transgender children. Even in a best-case scenario with supportive parents, a child being outed before they’re ready can have devastating effects. 

Don’t let this bill pass.

What you can do:

Call your damn reps. Every day if you can. Tell them you’re a registered voter or, if you’re under 18, what year you’ll be eligible to vote. Visit their office if you can. 

Work on a campaign. Figure out who’s running in your district and volunteer for whoever you support and has a chance. 

Educate. Inbox me @bluesnakezines with your address and how many people you think you’ll be able to reach, and I’ll send you packets (pictured) with informational pamphlets and slap tags. 

ORGANIZE. Find allies in your town. Put a protest together or have a lobbying day at your rep’s home office. Be loud.
