so before I can work with D3 locally I have to install a local web server. on my x220t, I try to not use Windows but Apache. Nicely packages in Wanmpserver (with MySQL and php), wampserver2.5-Apache-2.4.9-Mysql-5.6.17-php5.5.12-64b. And for that one, first get visual studio. Then Wampserver. Somewhat stuck / creating aliases, but to no avails. Even after that correction http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/smb-technologist/create-aliases-on-your-wamp-server/ . Access denied, manuallz created projects (directories) not found.

Babylon Enterprose 10 Client packager

created a client, with Babylon English and Wikidedia English. Saved als client_01 .

And installed locally on the same machine, the x220s. Works. the 2 glossaries areside on the client part.

Then added english-german and german-english on the server, and added them in the client. That also works.

unbelievable. It just works :-)

connecting 2 notebooks - MaxiVista

Since I have 2 notebooks, I wanted to be able to use one of them as an extra screen for the other.

http://www.maxivista.com/ does just that. However, before, the computers need to be connected. I decided to use a LAN cable, not wireless. That makes it clearer: cable in = connected. However, using Windows, that is not totally straightfroward. Basically what had to be done: enter static IP addresses, I've chosen 192.168.0.1 for the x220s and 192.168.0.2 for the x220t, also enter the (default) subnet mask 255.255.255.0 .

Downloaded Maxivista test version, installed on both machines (there is always one main and one extra machine). It worked, needed some reboots, and also when the Firewall appeared, I had to allow Maxivista to go through the firewall.

Worked, bought the middle (so-called professional) version. Installed it with x220t as main computer, able to use the x220s as second screen. All fine.

x220s Lenove rescue and recovery

finally it worked. I had to uncheck the recovery partition (so that one is not backed up again) when making a system backup to the external hard drive.

x220s - preparing for setting up again

It works fine but would not let me allow to perform a system backup. I compains about lack of space for some shadow things. Looking up on internet, this can lead to endless issues.

therefore I preferred to order system recovery DVDs from Lenovo, bought a SSD (because the other one was so great), and I'll start from scratch.
