she's   nursing   a   glass   of   champagne   when   she   stops   in   the   room   ,   taking   a   look   around   before   meeting   their   gaze   with   a   hazed   one   .   "we   probably   walked   by   at   least   five   of   them   ."   confirms   with   a   smile   ,   "but   i'm   a   little   tipsy   so   chances   of   me   finding   them   on   my   own   again   are   slim   to   none   unless   you   want   to   help   me   ."

rather   fond   of   the   beautiful   creature   before   them   ,   evidently   so   as   mira   approaches   with   confidence   .   brush   in   hand   .   yet   brown   hues   widen   subtly   at   the   picked   up   innuendo   —   at   least   ,   that's   how   it   lands   .   artist   clears   her   throat   ,   allowing   words   to   cascade   off   her   like   water   from   a   duck's   back   .   trying   to   perhaps   .   “   get   a   bit   skittish   ,   maybe   .   horses   are   highly   intuitive   to   human   emotions   .   did   you   know   that   ?   ”

"i   do   ,"   she   nods   .   "that's   why   i   have   three   and   all   of   them   love   me   .   hate   my   brother   ."   because   pritch   can   be   an   ass   and   animals   read   up   on   that   energy   ,   too   .   "but   you   have   good   intentions   ,"   shrugs   minuscule   as   she   approaches   the   other   and   takes   their   hand   ,   laying   it   on   the   mane   .   "she   can   feel   if   you're   scared   though   so   it's   better   to   treat   them   like   you've   met   them   before   ."

delightful  gasp  emitted  from  her  as  feet  shuffled  as  quickly  as  possible  through  the  petting  zoo,  leaving  companion  behind  in  the  hurry  to  get  to  the  furry  creature.  “  i  want  a  pet  goat.  do  you  think  i  could  have  a  pet  goat  in  my  brownstone?  ”  skirts  of  silk  dress  not  even  a  concern  as  she  knelt  down  next  to  the  animal  and  careful  strokes  of  the  fur  of  their  neck  becoming  her  new  fixation.  “  i  have  as  much  of  a  yard  as  you  can  in  the  city.  i  think  i  could  make  it  work.  what  do  you  think?  ”

he   does   a   side   glance   as   if   maybe   he   heard   her   wrong   ,   but   it   seems   like   his   hearing   is   doing perfectly   fine   .   "a   goat   ?"   licks   his   lips   ,   refraining   from   showing   the   surprise   on   his   face   before   masking   it   with   a   laugh   .   truth   be   told   ,   he'd   get   her   one   if   that's   what   she   really   wanted   .   watching   her   with   it   ,   it   did   something   he   couldn't   quite   decipher   .   or   maybe   he   just   refused   to   .   "i   think   if   that's   what   you   want   ,   you   should   look   into   adopting   one   ."   there's   a   pause   .   "i   have   an   apartment   upstate   ,   you   can   keep   them   there   ."

(  Ꮺ  )                the  bar  was  in  full  bustle  around  him  but  his  eyes  stayed  glued  to  his  phone  screen  as  he  read  stats,  notifications,  and  caught  up  on  texts  that  had  been  sitting  there  for  months  at  that  point.   “   you  won't  get  fast  service  over  here,  ”  tyler  began  when  he  felt  someone  sit  next  to  him,   “  bartender  is  covering  their  area  and  the  other's  without  help.  if  you  want  something  quick,  might  want  to  go  to  the  other  side.  ”  

she places both their drinks down in front of her before sharing a smile , crossing one leg over the other , "perks of being friends with the owner ." not to mention her many , many heyday's a few years ago after college . this place became a sanctuary over time , away from the eyes and ears of everyone in the city . though , the media was never far and robinhood was always around the corner . never  in  rosalia’s  twenty  seven  years  had  fashion  failed  her.  until  today.  stuck  in  a  dress  in  an  upscale  boutique  with  flushed  cheeks,  a  light  sheen  peeking  through  her  makeup,  and  a  zipper  that  wouldn’t  budge.  “  no  ,  no  ,  no.  ”  a  soft  spoken,  slightly  panicked  mantra  that  was  repeated  with  every  failed  attempt  to  reach,  and  release  the  metal  teeth  from  the  fabric.  a  deep  breath  was  inhaled  through  her  nose  and  released  past  her  lips,  calming herself and disturbing  the  errant  dark  strands  that  were  ticking  her  face  before  her  head  poked  out  from  behind  the  curtain.  “  i’m  sorry  ,  ”  a  gentle  plea.  “  my  zipper  is  stuck  ,  do  you  mind  .  .  .  ?  ” 

frankie's been searching up and down the strip for something to wear tonight , coming across the small boutique and fighting the internal battle of what to purchase . was just about to give up , having put down a dress about fifteen minutes ago when femme peaks out wearing the exact same one . "see , now this is why i didn't get it -- looks so much better on you ," smiles up at her before approaching , "i hope you plan on buying it . it was made for you ." gently coaxing her to turn to focus on the zipper , she helps by tugging it upwards to release the fabric it snagged and easing it down the middle . door   of   the   sports   car   swings   shut   ,   the   thud   of   the   latch   echoing   .   lips   dare   to   quirk   ,   anticipating   a   reaction   out   of   the   other   .   one   hand   tucked   into   the   front   pocket   of   his   jeans   as   he   approaches   while   the   other   gestures   to   the   spectacle   before   them   .   front   seat   held   their   helmets   ;   stylish   and   very   much   necessary   .   “   what   ?   you   really   thought   i   wouldn’t   follow   through   ?   ”   blue   eyes   glint   with   just   enough   mischief   to   let   frankie   know   she's   in   for   the   ride   of   her   life   .

she squints , palm placed just above her left eyebrow to cover the sun beaming above their heads to get a better look at homme .. and the car parked right beside him . lip purses in feigned thought , "you're not kidnapping me , are you ?" smiles afterward , reciting their previous conversation and breaking into a sprint towards him as a low squeal emits past lesser , excitement lingering in her chest as she hugs him . maybe consisted a little bit of nerves . "i'm not going to lie , i was worried you'd forget ," premature shrug as she pulls away before she's clasping palms together , "but i'm ready ."

        snorts  before  she  can  help  it,  giving  a  roll  of  her  eyes.  "  that  doesn't  even  make  any  sense.  i  can't  make  faces,  but  you're  going  to  ...  what  ?  fight  someone  ?  "  such  a  sibling  like  thing  to  say  that  chi  finds  it  more  amusing  than  anything  else.  "  i  don't  believe  that,  stop  saying  it.  " demands  sharply  as  if  that  will  truly  stop  the  issue,  as  if  it  wasn't  something  that  filtered  down  from  their  parents  onto  all  of  them.  "  we  stay  out  of  each  other's  way.  "  the  most  she  was  willing  to  offer  when  she  was  having  a  good  day,  not  needing  that  to  taint  it.  "  what  happened  this  time  ?  "     

"kill them ," corrects , "yes ," smiles akin to that of a cheshire cat before he's shrugging , brushing it off like he does everything else . it won't change how he feels , won't make up for the fact that their parents never should have conceived and they're both stuck with the aftermath of their selfishness . "nothing happened . i've been staying out of the media , so chances are they're going to either be happy or mad about it . either way , i don't care . what about you , anything you want to tell me ?"

⸻    she  scrunched  her  nose:    a  habit  that,    in  recent  years,    only  appeared  with  a  select  few.    “    oh,    don’t  be  a  child,    ”    she  chided.    were she not preoccupied by concern, she would’ve blushed at the insinuation. “    well,    i  guess  i  only  came  in  to  say  hi.    out  for  lunch  or  a  meeting ?    nothing  i  can  steal  you  away  from ?    ”    

he smiles then , shrugging . "you prompted the question , least you could do is answer it ." leaning back , he crosses his arms against his chest as means of holding himself back , gaze catching hers and waiting for the shoe to drop . "depends on what the incentive is ," tongue runs across lesser , "tell me , pip . what do you want to do with me ?"
