Thank you!!! I actually don’t have a very solid answer for you since “I’ve been doing it my whole life” seems unhelpful even if it is true. I would say that I really started concentrating on my drawing about five years ago and started finding my style in 2024, but there hasn’t really been a period in my life where I wasn’t doodling.

That’s legitimately so sweet of you to say, thank you so much! I don’t know if I could pinpoint an exact method I use to achieve facial dimension, but I can definitely say that I owe a lot of thanks to Team Fortress 2 for teaching me so much about expressions and structure. Since all the character models show exaggeration in their features, but not to a degree that’s horribly uncanny, I was able to experiment a lot with how far you can push and pull/ squash and stretch a human face before it gets particularly toony. The 3D models were always useful in trying different angles and the official comics are honestly probably the thing that introduced me to drawing people with more prominent wrinkles, and that stuck with me once I started getting into other things.

It’s honestly very simple! I usually try to find a place with even lighting so the grain of the paper doesn’t look so intense, take a photo with my phone camera, and then drop it into the editor to increase the contrast. I recently had to switch from my trusty old Samsung to an IPhone, but have achieved the same results by making that small adjustment.

I would definitely like to be more active going forward since my life has caused me to lose touch with many of the online spaces I was once a part of, and there is certainly a lot to catch up on, especially as I officially open commissions again. However, you and no other individual who is capable of contacting me through this platform or any other on a whim is automatically entitled to a response by doing so. Whether that be by choice or circumstance. I would like to interact with people where I can and offer help if it’s asked of me now that I am entering a period again where I have some time to spend on that, and I am beyond grateful that people enjoy what I make. That being said, do not confuse yourself about what is owed to you by a stranger on the internet who has obligations you know nothing about, and do not hold me responsible for your disappointment if your independently determined expectations are not met.
