the world online is much like the world outside. there's idiots, bigots, ignoramuses, bellends, etc. ad infinitum.

and there's nothing that you can do about it. while it's noble to try and educate others, and foster mutual understanding and respect, your first and foremost duty as a human being is to be kind to yourself.

while this is by no means a deterrent to make change, there unfortunately will always be people that frustrate you to no end. and if engaging with them is too taxing and hurting too much, i implore you to step away.

100%, please do try and expose yourself to different beliefs, but that's because its beneficial to you. constantly resisting and pushing back can never be good for you long-term.

spend time with the people you care about, and that care about you, whether irl or online. find the community where existing for you is not a constant act of defiance, and not completely exhausting.

where are the freaks where are they

the vitriolic hatred spewed towards trans men is very much the same hatred of the ‘other’ (the ideal of a ‘man,’ if such a thing does exist), by transphobes, denigrating and scapegoating it as the root of all evil. 

by alienating the ‘man’ and assigning it as ontologically evil one is playing into transphobic rhetoric, and only cleaving the divide between all of us as people. 

adopting the same values as bigots does not endear oneself to them, and only spreads the irrationality and paranoia that bigots are victims of themselves.

people don't serve labels

a label represents someone, and the person is not limited to the strict definition of a label, because a label is ultimately in service of a person

if people served labels, we would all be the same but, we're not
