It’s come to my attention that a user on this platform copied my original story “Nerd, Interrupted” — not just vaguely, but blatantly. The themes, character dynamics, the pacing and major plot elements were all taken from my work, repackaged under a different title, and posted as if they were original. I was anonymously informed, looked into it myself, and the similarities were undeniable. When I confronted them, they denied everything — claimed they didn’t know me, had never read my work, and had never followed me. Yet, soon after, they deleted the story entirely… and then their entire account. If you really didn’t copy anything, why go to those lengths?

What’s worse — this same person @snowho0n was commenting on my anon post pretending to support me throughout the ordeal, agreeing I had been wronged, only for me to later realize it was them the entire time. A friend of mine recognized the aesthetic, formatting, and behavior — it was unmistakable. And now, from the same account, they’ve started posting again, this time putting “inspired by” in the description and tagging me along with other writers. Let me be very clear: writing “inspired by” after the fact does not make anything better. You didn’t own up to what you did. You didn’t apologize. You didn’t take accountability. Instead, you erased the evidence, played both sides, and are now trying to rewrite the narrative while avoiding the actual consequences. This isn’t inspiration — it’s theft. And no amount of sugar-coating or emotional guilt-tripping will change that. If you’re bold enough to steal, deny, lie, fake support, and then try to quietly rebuild — you should be called out publicly.

first off, i would like to say that if you have used my fic layout without permission, please change it. i am not really comfortable with people using it and not crediting me with it. i have a hard time saying no to people so i’m currently finding this very hard to express—please forgive me for that. but i have seen a handful of people use my fic layout without permission and i have had to sort things out in private or just with them in general. i’m so grateful that people like my fics and layouts, but please do not copy them. i am not trying to hate or shame anyone who used it, i just want to express my feelings about it.

second of all, i have now gotten a few asks about people asking if they can use my writing style to inspire their own work. to start, i actually have no idea what that means and how you can be inspired by a writing style (i’m a bit slow please forgive me), but i’m putting trust into them and i hope they don’t copy me. it’s okay to be inspired, but not okay to copy. if you feel inspired, try taking that inspiration and making your own unique style instead! you’ll get much more success out of it.

ok and now for the post i linked earlier. @si3rren has just had an issue with plagiarism of her fic, and i came across her post, regarding it. when i looked at the screenshots, i saw that MY fic layout was used yet again. i had no idea this happened because i was not credited or anything. this is what makes me frustrated because i have spent my own time, trying to make my layouts unique because i believe no one’s stuff should be blatantly copied like that.

so please, please, please don’t copy anything!!! it’s okay to take light inspo and credit, but not this heavy level of plagiarism. i am beyond frustrated now and i am only now making this post despite how spaced out these events were. i’ve been scared to speak out because i didn’t want to say the wrong things, or lose any of my friends, but after talking with some of my moots, i have realized i need to do this.

looking at the links, i can definitely see concerning similarities beyond just inspiration. there’s a big difference between being inspired by someone’s work (like taking a general concept and making it your own) and lifting specific phrases/scenarios, which this seems more like 😬

i really appreciate you reaching out about this! honestly, this whole situation has me reflecting on inspiration vs plagiarism in fandom spaces. i’ve definitely been inspired by works before—like my free throws and figure drawings’ artist x basketball player pairing was roughly inspired by the artist x muse dynamic from a scaralumi fic i can’t even find anymore but it was written by allechant, and kill switch draws from the premise i loved in midas by mitsuboo which i’ve mentioned in my original post (the fic was reposted as series)—but i always try to transform the concept into something completely my own with different circumstances, character dynamics, etc.

inspiration should feel like ’this gave me an idea’ not ’let me rewrite this with different names,’ you know? 🫠

@doevies was defending and made a post about the person on twitter who’s socmed au was copied by jiah, in what way is that hate? also the @stormywoo person has been a little upfront but tbh, all they were doing was calling that girl out on her fake apology and defending a creator (tori) they obviously support 😭 god forbid they support someone who got their work stolen more than once!

i’m not encouraging harassment and i never will, but let’s not act like this is a one-time thing. she’s done this over and over again. she’s not apologizing because she’s genuinely sorry—she’s embarrassed because she got caught. this “hiatus” isn’t about healing or reflection. it’s damage control, plain and simple.
