1969 Dodge Dart GTS

Back in 1969, Dodge did something wonderfully irresponsible.

They took the compact Dart GTS and stuffed a 440 cubic-inch big-block under the hood, creating the rare M-Code 440 Dart.

𝗔 𝟰𝟰𝟬 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝘁. That’s not engineering. That’s a dare.

It didn’t need wild stripes or a carnival-barker paint job to get attention. From ten feet away, it looked like a sharp little Dodge compact. But when that 440 woke up, the story changed in a hurry.

This was the kind of car that made bigger, heavier, more expensive muscle look silly at the drag strip. Light body. Big torque. No nonsense.

Only a small number were built, which is why the M-Code Dart has become one of those cars Mopar people still talk about with a grin.
