Working in Yellowstone Park I sat down just on the edge of tree line at Mount Washburn. I could feel something sneak up behind me and I was worried because I had seen a lot of fresh grizzly scat. So I turned my head slowly and 5 feet away was the picture you were seeing now and how relieved I was. That it wasn’t a grizzly. I had seen mama bears with the Cubs in the spring when they’re still snowbanks around and watch the Cubs run around and up and jump on the snowbank and slide down time after time, but when the wind changed, mama stood up. I slowly crept away and down off the mountain.
