You really just have to talk to them. That’s the only way. 

Allo’s main feature is the “assistant” that lets you ask Google things or include interactive content from the internet right inside your text message conversations. If you want to use this feature, then Google needs to have access to your text messages, and your texts are stored on a server.

If the police or government asks Google for your text messages (or if they just hack in and take it)… they can have them.

If you want to be protected from this, you have three options:

1. Only text people in incognito mode, which doesn’t save any of your messages whatsoever. (but you wont be able to use the assistant feature)

2. Manually delete your messages so they aren’t on Google’s servers anymore.

If you are using traditional text messaging apps, there is pretty much zero chance of you keeping your texts 100% safe from anyone seeing them. Your cell service provider has a log of all your text messages that law enforcement can easily request and get if they want them. So if you decide not to use Google Allo because of privacy concerns, but you are still using your regular texts, then your logic doesn’t really hold up. 

If your shit is saved on iCloud it ca be had by law enforcement.
