After some discussion, the re:patch team has decided to shift to a text-only form of delivery for the re-translation of Mink's route in DRAMAtical Murder.
TL;DR -- The re-translation of Mink's route is still happening, but a patch for the game will not be distributed at this time. Follow shibaface for more information.

so you're only doing Mink's route? But how about the others? Dont you think that's a kind of unfair for the others?
This project currently relies a great deal on the work of the original patch team. We have stated many times that we are indebted to them and their hard work, especially with visual elements, because there was a lot to translate.
Our work is focused on Mink's route because we can do the most good by re-translating his route. Yes, there are translation errors in other routes, and we're aware of them. But modifying those routes requires a greater reliance on the original patch team's work, and without their unanimous permission, that's something we don't want to do.
Hi, I want to ask if the original patch team has given you permission to use and edit their work, especially their visuals.
At this point, we have not sought their permission, since only this one route is being translated from the original Japanese. (The only thing we intend to edit with regard to the original patch team's visuals is a typo in the name of Noiz's Allmate in the common route.)
In the unlikely event of a full re-translation, we would look at what it would take in order to not use their visuals, or would reach out to the original patch team to put together an updated patch 2.0.
Our intent with this project is to re-translate Mink's route and replace the existing text with the new translation. Unlike the other routes, Mink's route/Scrap contains no edited visuals, so the original patch team's work (including visuals) remains unedited in other routes. If it is preferable to the original team, then the translation will be made available in a script-style format, since no other direct translations for Mink's route exist.
oooh, how exciting! who is the team working on this patch? you guys have my wholehearted support!
We currently have three members on the team (which does not include potential beta testers). Others not on the team may also provide their expertise but wish to remain anonymous.
shibaface is providing the translation for Mink's lines in his route and his introductory scene in the common route. harukami will be editing the route for clarity and accuracy, working with shibaface to keep the closest possible meaning. tigerine is serving as a second proofreader and coder.
ok so i understand that the original patch's translation was flawed, but why make a whole new patch? there is at least one more accurate text-only translation of mink's route already and there are so many other good (hell, better!) BL games out there with translations that are severely lacking, or none at all? why not put your efforts into translating one of those instead of something that already had an adequate translation and a large fanbase?

Most asks will be answered in private. Anonymous asks that can provide useful information to the public will be answered. Asks that are negative or distressing will be deleted. Supportive messages, anon or not, will not be answered, but will instead be cradled gently in our hearts.
A clear division between personal blogs and the re:patch blog will be maintained. The re:patch blog is only for updates with regard to patch business. Likewise, the personal opinions and preferences of the team members don't come into play on this blog.
Updates will be condensed into single posts. After posting, the content of an update post will be added into the patch progress changelog.
