Clearly a Weapon

“Ah, it’s fine – don’t worry about it.” They said, followed by a soft chuckle as they shook his hand. “It’s nice to meet y’, too! An’… nah, y’ don’t need to introduce yerself.” What they didn’t know, was that this alternate wasn’t a Wilybot.

“Ah, I just realized-” Bass blinked, rubbing the back of his neck. “If we’re both Bass, would that get confusing-? I mean, we can tell each other apart of course, but... I dunno how this normally works if we talk about each other. Roll is gonna be beyond confused if I try and tell her about this...” Maybe there was just some way to tell them all apart in conversation that he didn’t know about? Or maybe not- his counterpart did say that it was confusing keeping track of them all.

(✦);;~ “Basically, yeah. I’ve already met a couple of alternates, so yer certainly not the first.” They didn’t seem to be aware of the fact that this alternate wasn’t a Wilybot. However, if they were, they wouldn’t even be bothered by it in the slightest – only just a tad surprised, but that’s it. 

“Meeting a lot of different versions of yourself sounds... weird. But kinda cool, too,” Bass said, a bit surprised and impressed that they had met so many. “You’re the first one I’ve met.” There was a pause before Bass remembered himself, and quickly held out his hand. “Ah, s-sorry, I forgot- it’s nice to meet you! ...I guess I don’t really need to introduce myself though, huh?” He seemed a bit embarrassed that he’d forgotten to greet his counterpart properly...

(✦);;~ “I… can’t help but wonder how many alternates of mine are actually out there, to be honest.”

“I-I’m starting to wonder the same thing...” He had recognized the other’s armor as being similar to his own and approached them. They must have been... another Bass, then? This would be the first one he’d met. “...I guess that’s another one to put on the list?” Well, for his counterpart. It seemed like they’d met more, going by what they said.

“Take it easy, rest your voice- you might break something.” She said. “Just climb on my back, and hold on- I can climb out of here, okay?” She told him, lowering herself so that he could get on. “It’ll be just like a piggyback ride, okay?”

“A-are you gonna be okay carrying me?” Bass couldn’t stop himself from asking, cautiously moving forward and wrapping his arms around her neck. It didn’t seem too hard, like she’d said... he rode on Treble’s back all the time, so it wasn’t unfamiliar being carried like that. Thinking about the absent wolf just caused another wave of anxiety, though, and his grip tightened briefly before he could try focusing on something else. He really wished that she was here- maybe when they got out he could call her though, assuming his com systems weren’t damaged.

Approaching the well, Darkflow peered down into it and was almost surprised to see the faint glow of active optics. “Do you need help getting out?” She asked, ears lowered in her concern. By the sounds of things, the boy stuck down there was only a child.

“C-can you give me something to climb out-?” Bass asked, before hunching over slightly with a sudden coughing fit. Apparently forcing himself to keep shouting was a bad idea- he’d probably lose his voice if he kept going. It might have been a good idea to ask her to try and call his family, but he wasn’t sure she’d be able to do that. He just hoped that she had something with her for climbing- he didn’t want her to leave him alone again, now that she’d shown up.
