I think, as with everything, there’s a time and place for specific terminology that can be gender neutral. It might sound corny, but my high school honors English teacher called us “scholars” when addressing us as a group, to be 1) gender-neutral and 2) show what expectations she had of us. The teacher sponsor for the TTRPG club called us “adventurers” after I pointed out to him that I wasn’t included in “boys and girls.” That’s corny, sure, but it fit, and it was cool

That’s why I call people “Fuckers”
