Living in America has made me a more depressed, critical, and annoyed person overall. I honestly feel an energetic darkening when I’m there versus anywhere else in the world. There is just so much to say on the topic but the systemic stupidification of this nation has been 1000% successfully completed and the inertia combined with the infighting combined with the acceptance and internalizing of capitalism fermented your brains, like it’s kimchi up there for real. This is beyond “in this essay I will” like Half of the country CANNOT READ!!!!!!!!!!! The ENGLISH LANGUAGE. Not even a hard one! Every time I speak with the people at the place I volunteer at in my head I’m counting the multiple dozens of times they were failed by the system from before they were even conceived. And then 2 missed paychecks and you’re homeless! And even if you manage to get someone on the same page of understanding that this is wrong: - boom, they don’t want someone else in the community to benefit (infighting), - boom, I need to work XXX hours so I can only be XXX in debt this month (internalizing and accepting capitalism), - boom, I don’t have the time, energy or it won’t matter anyway (inertia) and then to truly seal the deal you get brainwashed into accepting electoral college so even if you do try to elicit change don’t worry!!! We thought of that and patched the hole.
