New product alert!!! 🌱🌿🍃 Creamy Face Cleanser!!! Why use a cleanser instead of bar soap on your face? Bar soaps generally have a pH level of between 9 and 10, which can make your face feel squeaky clean but is just much too harsh. It removes all the natural oils from your skin, making the pH level too alkaline. This can cause a host of new problems - the skin becomes dry, flaky, and prone to inflammation. This, in turn, causes the sebaceous glands to overproduce oil to compensate for the dryness causing clogged pores and breakouts. When skin is overly dry and flaky it can also lead to premature fine lines and wrinkles. The acid mantle is the skin’s way to protect itself from bacteria, environmental pollutants, and moisture loss. The acid mantle is made up of natural oils, sweat, and dead skin cells, and is slightly more acidic in nature to prevent these harmful (naturally alkaline) contaminants from penetrating and damaging the skin.
