This guy is a genius and it’s amazing that he gets a solid techno beat going with so few analog pieces!
Some Korean Rap pop ladies who rock! Because we all need some worldliness
It’s hard not to love Big Baby D.R.A.M.’s smile and hard not to find this song catchy. I guarantee it will stick in your head in a good way after listening!
If you haven’t watched Rapper Reacting to Rich Chigga video watch that first! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KMBELyZ_sM&list=PLoKdibzBjlIZUjWsRbO_YAgRUCoVUKFGz&index=34

Rich Chigga is amazing if only for it’s cultural kick in the nuts and this video of rappers reacting to his video is great!
Jamie XX has never been really on my playlist but this video… wow this video… it’s drop dead amazing cinematography and a must watch!
The video is good but it doesn’t capture the narrative of the amazing album “he Life & Death of Scenery” that it comes from. L’Orange and Mr Lif’s album collaboration is an incredible concept album set in an orwellian future where all music an culture has been destroyed. It’s really meant to be listened to as a album front to back and I highly encourage you to!
Of Monsters and Men have been on repeat a lot for me lately. They got me through an assload of work when having an uplifting album on repeat was what I needed. They are magical!
Dominik Eulberg never stops being incredible. If anyone ever says that minimal techno can’t have emotion point them to Dominik Eulberg.

Hellz Yeah! Been a while since I stumbled on some new good indie blue grass. This is great! Video is fun too!
Favorite Music of 2016
I missed writing up my list last year. And frankly I should be other things with my time than this but sharing good music is my solace. It’s gonna be a short and sweet list so here it goes.:
Top 10 Favorite New Albums of 2016 (in no particular order)
Moderate — III — Moderate’s new album takes a bit to get into as it’s bit different and not as boogie down, but it’s really interesting to see them find their particular sound and voice.
Glass Animals — How to Be a Human Being — this sophomore album is so good. Such an amazing evolution from this band. Amazingly sentimental and fun.
Lorn — Vessel — I don’t know what to classify Lorn as: Dark Ambient? Drone? Industrial? Post-Half-Step? This album is one of their best and for me they are just amazing for a good pair of headphones late at night.
Jumo — Nomade — really great downtempo glitch hop stuff which while as a genre ain’t the newest and coolest thing. I still like it.
Ruby Friedman Orchestra — Gem — amazing vocalist and musical range indieish rock and country folk. New artist. The album is great but also check out her cover of House of the Rising Sun
Open Mike Eagle — Hella Personal Film Festival — Open Mike Eagle is amazing. It took me a bit to get into him but now that I have I know I want more.
Too Many Zooz — Subway Gawdz — Saw them live this year too. So amazeballs! It’s impressive how much sounds and power this three guys can put out!
A Tribe Called Quest — We got it from Here… Thank You 4 Your service — don’t really need to say why this is awesome.
Kishi Bashi — Sonderlust — hard not to love Kishi Bashi. Not my favorite album of his but it’s solidly great still.
Yoni & Geti — Testarossa — Tess got me into this group. Kinda rap. Kinda indie rock. They rap about scones and cardigans and stuff. great in an odd way.
Favorite New (to me) Artists of 2016
Whilk & Misky — Great electronic/folk/blues they don’t have a full album yet or they’d be my new fav album.
Bishop Briggs — Kick ass strong vocals with a bit of country folk. Same as above in that I’m waiting with anticipation for a full album from her.
Pilote — More country folk electronic mashup because I can’t get enough of that sound.
Degiheugi — great French down/midtempo hip hop. They have a number of albums and their last album came out in 2015 but it wasn’t until this year that I discovered them.
Rainbow Kitten Surprise (RKS) — strange name for a band but solidly good catchy rock with good lyrics along the veins of Modest Mouse but a little peppier. They have a couple albums, last one in 2015. Again I didn’t discover them till this year.
The Marv — Really interesting French-Indian hip hop artist who mixes in bird sounds and bollywood.
Walter Ferguson — Basically the forefather of Limon Calypso. SO GOOD! And I’m not just saying that because it reminds me of our trip to Costa Rica, but it does that too.
Lafa Taylor — great fun and funny Porland hip hop artist. I don’t like all his stuff but he has promise that I’m looking to see what he does with it. his All My Friends Are Freaks ep is great.
Vince Staples — This LA rapper has a sound all his own. It’s dark and heavy and tells stories in his songs about the street with such and open honesty that it hits hard.
Favorite 2015 Albums that I actually began listening to for real in 2016
Yppah — Tiny Pause — another cheat as this album came out in 2015. But it’s really good. One of my favorites of Yapph
Kool Keith & L’Orange — Time? Astonishing! — somehow I missed this coming out until it was 2016 so I’m counting it as a 2016 album. Such an amazing DJ/MC combo. Had not to consider this an instant indie hip hop classic.
Fight Like Apes — Fight Like Apes — ok this is cheating as this album came out late in 2015 but I didn’t really give it a real listen until 2016. Also I didn’t do my list last year. I really love this Dublin band’s upbeat pop punk.
Great music video for Moderat’s “Eating Hooks” with amazingly trippy use of fabric and mesmerizing minimal contortionist dance.
L'Orange kick'n it again! Fun video too!
Serious Parisian Queens seriously voguing to let you know their harder then you are… which they are.

Just stumbled on this track while watching Lorn videos. Sooooooo good. Haven’t heard dark ambient-ish this good in a while, like a combination of Lorn’s dark post-dubstep industrial beats with ambient metal
Lorn continues to amaze, especially sitting alone and listening on good headphones
