So last week I posted my thoughts from LIB… it was “If you never try to go where they tell you ‘you can’t go,’ you’ll never know if you could have made it there.” So I took this picture last weekend while standing on the famous “Do Lab” stage mid-set… and I realized that I made it there. Throughout my life I’ve probably been to at least 20 festivals… when I was younger and went to my first ones I used to always look up on stage and think to myself that I wanted to be up there. I wanted to be in the music industry and actually be on or back stage creating experiences. And lately I realized that out of close to 20 festivals I’ve been to, I have been doing exactly that. I’ve been some sort of DJ, vendor, volunteer, staff, press, or guy sneaking in. And I’ve always felt like I was supposed to be there, even if I didn’t really belong there, I’ve always felt that it’s where I was meant to be. It was always a place I thought I couldn’t go into, but I just kept trying at every chance I got, and more than half the time I usually end up on that side of the stage doing something for the festivals. Fast forward to today… before starting a store, I was telling people for more than a year prior to signing the lease that I was going to start a store. But I realized that I’ve been telling people, mainly @zeeedot, for more than 5 years that I’m going to start a festival. It’s a very hard thing to accomplish, but you never know unless you try. So I’m just going to put it out there into the universe and say that I’m going to start a festival (although I already feel like I am throwing festivals)… But yea, I have some ideas I want to spread on a larger scale… so if anyone knows any resources that could help me, venues, or angel investors that want to help produce a world changing festival, please let me know. I’ll give you a referral fee. ;) p.s. thanks to everyone that has helped me in any way, shape, or form to getting here, keep supporting and I promise I’ll do some amazing things for this world. I'm not sure how @forbes does their judging, but this was a pretty crazy email to wake up to. I don't think I made the list, but to be considered along with 600 of the brightest young entrepreneurs, breakout talents and change agents in 20 different sectors in the world is a pretty humbling experience. Just had my birthday, now time to make some positive changes... I basically haven't ever stopped drinking and smoking hookah since I started about 8 years ago... And for those that know me well, know my habits, and how much I drink. I probably have only missed 3 weekends of drinking in those 8 years. So I'm going to go on an achievable 40-day cleanse along with some other positive changes, so if you see me MIA from @thesociallounge or the drinking scene that's probably why. I'll be working on some other stuff in the mean time. I honestly hope i like it and never come back to my old ways... Maybe... Drinking is fun lol.
