i don’t know how many pitch perfect followers i still have, but if any of you happen to see this, kaylee and i would love some ideas for something subtle to include in our wedding to honour pitch perfect as it’s the reason we met. we’ll likely include some of the songs in our playlist for the day, but we’d really love some small, subtle pitch perfect related token to throw in there too.

RATING: T.
PAIRING: Bechloe.
WORDS: 3.8K.
SUMMARY: Opening up to Chloe becomes easier and easier, and Beca doesn’t fully understand why. Maybe it’s time to take the next step…
NOTES: As always, all credit for the show concept goes to Love Is Blind.

Most of these dates seemed to follow the same formula; pleasantries exchanged, a joke or two cracked here and there, then onto the next. Almost through habit, Beca was about to start asking the generic questions, though Chloe cut her off with a soft hum.
“Can I tell you a secret?” She asked, an air of mystery to her light tone.
Beca’s brow quirked, head tilting and intrigue painting itself onto her face. “Sure…”
“I wanted it to be you.”
The almost juvenile way Beca’s teeth sank into her bottom lip in an unconscious effort to bite back a smile almost passed her by, though she soon caught herself, and forced as sincere a look of neutrality to her face as she could manage. “Yeah?” She questioned, clearing the slightly higher pitch from her throat.
“Mhm,” Chloe hummed, “I really liked talking to you yesterday.” She paused, before adding thoughtfully, “I mean, I don’t hate talking to anybody, but I think I like talking to you the best.”
It felt stupid, the odd excitement the statement brought to the forefront of Beca’s emotions, and despite the way she attempted to school both her expression and the tone of her voice, she knew she was failing at least a little bit. Still, she went on. “You just think?”
Chloe’s giggle in response pulled a natural grin to Beca’s lips, fuelling her to continue.
“We should probably make that more of a certainty.”
Hay thanks. Why yes she is indeed, I have dated a number of guys but she is the first girl. I suppose like Rebel recently said i needed to find my princess.

So I realised I have so many messages and missed them all!!! This was a while ago but can I just say thank you!!! This is so sweet and such a pleasant surprise. I didn't even know people on here would know.
I'm so confused - what happened to Nova and the cat???
Wow I’m impressed that you remember all that. I don’t think I’ve really talked about it on here but I’m sure @chloebeale has. It’s been part of the crazy time at the moment. The cat was with us for a trial period and unfortunately it just didn’t work out. However she went to a great family that could give her a more appropriate home.
Then Nova breaks my heart but she wasn’t getting on well at all in our house. We didn’t have the space and she wanted to play with all the dogs but she was so rough and she was getting very antsy because we couldn’t give her the attention and care she needed for her energy level. After a long time and a lot of professional advice we had to find a more suitable home for her. She now lives with a lovely family who have a beagle called Rosie and Nova is absolutely loving it. We get updates all the time and although it was heartbreaking that we couldn’t give her what she needed I feel so much more peace knowing that she is so much happier and fulfilled. She loves her new sister Rosie so much. They get on so well.
Did you not have your ears pierced for religious reasons?
Not really. It’s just something I never got done. Plus my parents didn’t like them and that made me feel pressure to not do it. In my religion you are not supposed to get excessive piercings. Which means just lobe piercings. I was surprised it was as easy to do as it was and who knows I might go crazy and get more one day. I quite like the idea of one at the top on my ear.
Hahaha honestly I have no idea. To be fair I have never been a dog person before now. I think having these pups in our care makes me want to give them the best start they can have and how can your heart not fall in love with them. It’s a lot of work but I also think we’ve been blessed with some chilled puppies too. They get on really well together which helps a lot and we are putting a lot of work into training them. It helps also that my girlfriend works from home so she’s there to keep an eye on them during the day.
But as requested here’s some pics of our crazy bunch:
Stella the cavalier King Charles spaniel - our little diva
Steve the dachshund - apparently people say he gives off snoop dog vibes
Penny the Labrador- who is the youngest but also the biggest and loves lying in weird places.
How do you keep your relationship healthy? What's the secret?
Dude I have absolutely no idea!!! Seriously! I’ve not had much relationship experience before but a big difference for me when I met Ellie was how comfortable she made me feel. I’ve never experienced that before. Having someone I feel like I can be my whole self with. I feel comfortable to be my dorky, cheesy self. That is such a big thing for me and I can only hope that I can provide that back to her too.

No. I will not speak for Ellie but I would not want anyone to do that for me or someone else. Faith is a very individual thing and I believe that should be between the person and God (or whatever being you believe). To convert for someone is taking on a lot of life long responsibility and commuting to things you might not believe.
Plus it can be a challenge because currently the relationship between the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the LGBTQ+ community is not great. I still have my own faith but I also recognise the difficulties with being Mormon and gay and I would not wish that on anyone. I value my relationship with God as it’s been a very big guiding light in my life and the church gave me that and would hope everyone gains their own relationship with God in whichever way works for them. I know he’s guided me to find someone like Ellie in my life and I continue to live and seek his guidance in all I do.
Hello I hope you are doing well. Just curious Who has the tats you or your gf?
Hello! I am doing good thanks. @chloebeale has all the tats. She’s cool enough to pull them off. I actually have no tats and until recently had no piercings either. I got my ears pierced a few months back now.
I have not been on here for soooooo long!!! I am ashamed at myself. Part of it is because I’m seeing so much great fandom content it makes me restless because I want to keep making the podcast but life has been so busy. By doing that I’ve been missing all these messages!!! But I’m doing good thanks.
I’ve been well busy. I met the love of my life as many know. I moved to Leeds and then to Manchester in the space of like a month. I got a dream job as a studio director for a radio station. It’s crazy hours and my first proper radio job so it’s been a lot of work learning the ropes and getting into it, but it’s going really well. Plus me and my girlfriend got three puppies who are crazy and keep us well busy. So it’s been a wild ride but I miss it here and I really appreciate your kindness. How are you?
do u mind me asking what the premise of the thing you’ve been working on is ? Just a lil sneak peek 👀
“You’re not actually going through with this, right?”
Although her back was to her, upper body all but buried inside of her opened, only half-packed suitcase, Beca could picture the height of Stacie’s perfectly plucked brow thanks to the tone of her voice; she could mentally see the way it was practically lost among her hairline.
“Yep,” Beca mumbled distractedly, exaggeratedly popping the P.
Stacie chuckled in response. “You’re insane, dude.” Without grace, she plopped down onto the only free patch of mattress she could find, then quietly began to hum to herself as she reached for a poorly packed flannel shirt. She laid it neatly down in her lap to begin folding to a much higher standard. “You really think you’ll find love or whatever?”
Beca snorted. “No,” she shook her head. “Obviously not.”
“So, walk me through this again,” Stacie prompted. Delicately setting down the newly folded shirt, she immediately reached for another. “Why are you doing this?”
They had gone over this countless times already, though Beca supposed it made sense, Stacie’s lingering confusion. Out of everybody they knew, Beca Mitchell was the least likely person to ever even watch a reality television show, let alone apply for one herself. Her reasoning was simple to her, though: love was stupid.
As first demonstrated by her parents way back when, then only further proven to her by her own failed relationship years later, love and relationships simply did not work, no matter whether done the conventional way or not. So, when this opportunity was presented to her in the form of a televised experiment, the chance to prove her own theory to millions—or however many people watched reality shows, anyway—quietly, she was already sold. It wasn’t until Beca learned of the cash sum on offer to each cast member—enough to get her back to school at the very least—that she was given her outward excuse.
“I need money to go back to school,” Beca shrugged, the line so well rehearsed by now that it fell smoothly from her tongue without thought.
“Right,” Stacie nodded, nimble fingers working to quickly refold Beca’s shoddily packed clothing. “So you go back to school…as that weird girl from that wild reality show?”
It was difficult for Beca to properly explain herself. Honestly, she’d gone over her decision a million times, thought through her reasoning and tried to make it sound at least some semblance of logical, but so far, she was coming up short.
Truth be told, although not the kind of truth she would ever readily admit aloud, the breakup last year had done a real number on her; couple that with how badly her parents’ divorce had screwed her up almost twenty years ago now, and Beca really was just kind of a mess. She couldn’t properly explain why she needed this, she just…did.
Considering she barely had a response for herself, she came up just as short with one for Stacie, and instead simply shot her a look, brows raised and lips tightly pursed.
“Alright, alright,” Stacie relented, amusement coloring her expression, while her eyes drifted momentarily to the plaid shirt she was in the process of neatly folding. “You do you, dude.” She paused then, gaze moving upward to meet with Beca’s. Her expression became slightly softer, a look of genuine care twisting onto her features and her register lowering to something much more sincere, much more calming, “I just hope you’ve thought this through.”

“You’re sure you have everything?” Alice checked for what had to be the thousandth time. Strands of short blonde hair speckled with flecks of natural gray stuck to her sweaty forehead as she rolled up the baggy sleeves of her oversized cardigan. She reached for the large, zipped suitcase standing neatly beside the front door. “Oh, we should probably check one more—”
“Mom,” Chloe chuckled, her tone much more relaxed than her mother’s. She breezed forward to delicately rest a hand over Alice’s, effectively stopping her in her tracks. “We’ve checked, checked and checked some more. I have everything I need.” Kindness filled her eyes, and Chloe noted the way the unmistakable tension seemed to alleviate some from her mother’s expression.
Alice puffed out a long, slow sigh. “I just worry.”
“I know you do,” Chloe sympathized, “but it really is going to be fine. Besides,” she perked up, “I’m only gonna be in there for ten days. And if I forget anything, there’ll be people to run out and get it, right? I’m not, like, going into the jungle or anything.”
“Like I’d let you go to the jungle,” Alice grumbled, nostrils flaring at the very thought.
Once more, Chloe fondly chuckled. She released her mom’s hand, and instead delicately grasped her shoulders. In turn, blue eyes identical to her own met her line of sight. “I’m twenty-nine, Mom. If I wanted to go to the jungle, you know I’d go to the jungle.”
“Oh, I know you would,” Alice frowned, though Chloe saw the way she seemed to relax further. “I just want you to be careful, okay?”
“I always am,” Chloe lied.
It wasn’t that she was ever necessarily not careful—despite her most recent decision to appear on a reality television show, Chloe was not entirely reckless—it was just that, if it were up to Alice, Chloe would’ve been under her watchful eye twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week—and with good reason, too. She didn’t need to know everything Chloe got up to.
Fortunately, Alice was realistic; as much as she did want to protect her daughter, she also wanted her to live her life. In fact, secretly, she hoped that this experience would help her to do just that. No, she didn’t actually think a person could meet the love of their life in a ten day, scheduled timeframe, but she had an oddly good feeling about the whole thing, she felt like there were good things to come for Chloe. So, while she would miss her, she was excited for her to embark on this once in a lifetime adventure, too.
The sound of the doorbell startled them both from their quiet moment of shared reflection.
“That’ll be your car,” Alice stated, dutifully moving toward the door.
For her part, Chloe squealed excitedly, and despite any reservations she may have had, Alice couldn’t help but chuckle as she reached for the handle, opening up to reveal an unfamiliar woman dressed in a formal black suit.
“Oh, how official,” Alice remarked, the unmistakable British accent she had never quite lost despite over thirty years as an official US resident heightened by her pleasant surprise.
Chloe, unlike her mother, had met with the driver before, and greeted her with a bright grin. “Hi, Cynthia-Rose.”
“Chloe,” Cynthia-Rose, the driver, greeted with a polite nod of her head and a smile, “Mrs. Beale.” She focused on Chloe then. “Your chariot awaits.” Her deep brown eyes shifted toward the suitcase Alice had begun to pick up, and she immediately stepped forward to lighten the load. “Let me, Mrs. B.”
Following a heartfelt thank you from both Beale women, Cynthia-Rose retreated to the parked vehicle stationed at the end of the driveway, consequently leaving the two alone.
“Okay,” Alice began, sucking back a slow breath. Her arms instinctively stuck out until she could settle her hands protectively against Chloe’s upper arms. She took a small step back just to properly look at her, to really take her in. The emotion was clear in her expression.
“Mom,” Chloe said softly, the lightness to her tone overshadowed some by the subtle shine to her eyes. Regardless, she laughed quietly. “It’s just ten days.”
“I know, I know,” Alice nodded, forcefully pulling herself together. She straightened slightly, shoulders smoothing and mouth curving into a kind, sincere smile. “I want you to be careful,” she echoed her earlier sentiment, “but I also want you to have fun. I want you to have so much fun.”
Chloe’s response remained the same, “I always do.”
Alice nodded, offering her daughter a quick, brief squeeze to the upper arms where her hands still delicately rested. “That’s my girl.” She let go to instead pull her into a tight hug. Chloe easily reciprocated. “Ten days,” Alice verbally reminded herself.
“Ten days,” Chloe nodded, holding onto her mother a moment longer, before finally letting go. She stepped back to offer her a bright, reassuring grin, hope filling her vibrant eyes. “And who knows, maybe I’ll meet the love of my life in there.”
Alice smiled back fondly, never one to crush her daughter’s big dreams, and offered her a small nod of her head. “Maybe you will.”
