“I mean, technically paper cuts are really small. But I’d definitely live with the ghost. I’d stick cameras everywhere and become a millionaire.”

“Yeah, but paper cuts are really fucking painful, and salt would just make it worse. You’d have to survive the month before you could become a millionaire though.”

“I get the asking someone to stop calling you a slur… but how is fighting homophobia with ‘heterophobia’ going to solve anything? ‘Cause ain’t that what you’re doing by saying you hate straight people? Ain’t you just basically saying: ‘I want you to accept me for who I am, but since you’re not, I’m going to be a jerk right back’? I guess it might make you feel better, but what does it solve?”

Obviously, I do not hate every fucking straight person. I said it because I'm pissed off right now. LGBT+ people have to deal with this crap all the fucking time, and it's frustrating, and sometimes, for just a minute, you just want to say fuck it all and hate them and their stupid fucking mentality that correcting them or, god forbid, expressing frustration about them is the same thing as queerphobia, which reminder, literally kills people, gets kids kicked out, and gets us fired from our fucking jobs."

“Okay, so here’s an harder one; would you rather get cut over a million times by paper cuts and then have to rub salt on yourself —- or, live in an haunted house with a ghost for a month. I’m talking about paranormal meet insidious shit.”

Izzy pulled in front of the old Northpoint home and climbed out of his car. He was pretty sure this was where Dahlia lived. It hadn't really come up in conversation, but he knew she was living at her Aunt Stella's old home. Izzy had vaguely known the woman (he and an ex had helped with yard work one year), and if memory served this was her home. Izzy approached the door and rang the bell. Making sure a drunken Dahlia didn't hurt herself wasn't exactly the best way to spend an evening.

Devyn: Oh, I'm not really up to date with all that crap.

Izzy: did you just call thor crap?

“Hmmm. That can be just about anything. How about going for a swim? Or having a picnic? Or a road trip somewhere!”

“All good ideas.... Hmmmm..... We could go to Boston for few days? Or Quebec City, if you have a passport?”

“Yeah. You shouldn’t.”

“...Right....”

Dakota ignored his complaints and hugged him tighter. When he finally let go, Koda laughed, “It can mean whatever you want too.” He winked but smiled, pulling out a pack of cigarettes. He didn’t smoke often, just when something was bothering him and needed a releaver. “Want one?”

Izzy gave up struggling. He knew Koda well enough to know it would only make the hug longer. "Jesus Christ, that just made it sound dirtier." Izzy said, rolling his eyes dramatically. His mood sobered a little when Koda pulled out a pack of cigarettes. He only smoked when something was bothering him. "I'm good. I quit about a month ago...again. Trying to make it stick this time..." Izzy hesitated, trying to decide if he should ask why Koda was smoking suddenly. "So, uh, why are you smoking suddenly?”
