The more I see stuff about the Tumblr Sexyman Polls, the more glad I'm not participating, because the way fans (not just Tenna fans, but Dungeon Meshi and Project Hail Mary fans regarding Senshi and Grace, respectively) are acting about this is annoying and toxic.
Fun propaganda and silly bantering is one thing, constantly attacking and putting down others for who they vote is another thing.
I don't care if the character isn't conventionally attractive, even for you. I don't care if the character doesn't fit your standards of sexyman. I don't care if you don't like that character in general, think they're overrated, find their fans annoying, or whatever. It's not excuse be a jerk.
Not only that, your not doing the character you love and want to win any favors.
Do you think your doing your blorbo any favors by attacking others for their preferred blorbos? Do you think you're not risking alienating potential fans from even wanting to check out the media your blorbo is in because of your behavior? Do think if your blorbo was real they would be happy seeing their fans tear each other apart over a silly fandom poll?
Yeah, that wouldn't be great wouldn't it?
It's okay to have fun, but still be a good sport. At the end of the day, like I've said, it's just a silly little fandom poll, not a place to act like hooligans over fictional characters.
