Guys stop me if I sound fucking crazy I’m getting my thoughts together but it does not sit well with my spirit how prevalent clothing and appearance seem to be relative to people’s interest in riot grrrl
I mean like teenagers on Pinterest and shit like this
I feel like it’s so crazy reductive to talk about the genre like this and a completely revisionist fiction and is like. Not what it was about AT ALL but this is all people seem to latch on to!!!!!!! (especially that comment about how kinderwhore was supposedly the style component? Don’t even get me started on how people still use that fucking word btw)
I’ve never once seen anyone use bands like nation of Ulysses or any of their male contemporaries as style inspo or whatever. I swear it seems like people only give a fuck about how Kathleen hanna looked/dressed as opposed to her words and actions. it’s infuriating
This sort of flattening happens with most subcultures/countercultures but it feels particularly insidious and misogynistic in this instance
Aye aye
Hi my name is ian and im from Minor Threat
A collection of obscure fugazi images I found on instagram for your viewing pleasure
Guy and Brendan’s matching tattoos
I know they say “D.O.D” and I’m not sure if that refers to something relating to one of the many pre fugazi bands they were in or if it’s some secret code… that’s none of my business

it's funny how fugazi are ideologically the coolest band to ever exist and in practice the most Just Some Guy collective of people to ever create music
