"Any summer plans yet? Or is it too soon still to ask?"

"First things first, I'm thinkin' 'bout changin' up my hair," a twinkle in her eyes as she begins, "Might go a little bit lighter, maybe add in a money piece... but that ain't even the craziest part. I was thinkin' 'bout gettin' that Anastasia haircut."

Oscar didn't often go out to eat because honestly he liked to cook. Sometimes after a long week of dealing with bullshit, he'd grab something to eat. With summer coming up, his classes were all more excited to talk summer plans than anything math related. While normally he could deal with it, after a week, he needed a break from it all. As much as Oscar hated to admit it: there were a lot of students that didn't care about math. There were a few here and there that did, but most of them now were annoyed they had a little bit more of the school year left. The week had been extra tough on him and while Oscar tended to not go out unless it was absolutely necessary—because he hated running into parents, students, or former students—it was necessary today. He let out a loud sigh the moment he opened the door and saw how crowded the pizzeria was. So much for an evening of calm. "Is there a place here that isn't so crowded on a Friday night?" he asked, knowing all too well the answer was no.

"How do you normally spend your weekends?"

where: driftwood

"Hi, welcome in." Eden sighed when she heard the bell chime above the door. She loved when she worked the night shift at Driftwood because it was significantly slower than it was in the mornings, which meant she got to read between making coffee and taking orders. Unfortunately, that also meant that customers typically interrupted her books when they were just getting to the good parts.

"What can I get for you?" She asked though her eyes were still glued to the page of her novel.

"And then, for me, I'll just do a hot chocolate. Which probably makes no sense given the weather, but it's a sweet tooth cravin'."

"Can't git over how hot it's gotten..." He complains with a huff. "I ain't th'type t'wish fer cold weather, but at this point I'm cravin' snow."

"I hate that you're makin' me be the one to share the bad news," and her lower lip guts out into a light pout. All in good fun, of course, "But I don't think you're gonna be seein' any snow around here... like, ever."

"Pass, pass, pass." Miriam shuffled the clothing on the rack. "The problem with living on a boat means I have to be picky with clothing. I have no space at all for stuff I'm never going to wear again." Which was why she normally grabbed new items from thrift stores since it was... well cheaper. "I need some more summer time dresses since I'm going to be sticking around here for a bit." Miriam looked at the person beside her. "Does this town do a lot of events I should be prepared to spend money on an outfit for?"

And now that it's out there, Dixie wonders if maybe that's a thought she should've kept to herself. A worry that instantly subsides the second she hears the word dress and event: her two favorite things.

"I mean, I don't think you've gotta buy sometin' for every event 'cause they do tend to have a lot of 'em, so maybe like one or two would suffice. You need help findin' somethin'? I may not work here, but I know this place like the back of my hand."

"Is there a fictional world that you would like to be apart of?" Shiloh asks, out of the blue and definitely unprompted, "for me, it's the kingdom in Barney's Magical Musical Adventure. There's a clever scene where they have to get across a bridge and they are asked to solve a riddle about standing on one finger." Shiloh, having seen the video a dozen times, knows how the riddle is solved but she doesn't reveal anything.

"By Barney, do mean big purple dinosaur Barney? The one who sings 'bout cleanin' up? I thought every day was a big musical adventure with him," and now she's scraping her memories on whether or not she's seen it.

"Was he the one that went to.. what was it, Trashland?"

“ hmm you say that but it’s actually a nice color on me” he teased giving her a small smile back. “ she’s got a bright future “

Her eyes trailing over that wonderful glitter masterpiece is niece conjured up and she chuckles. Not him—definitely not at him—but her own memories that surfaced up. Her daddy being in this exact situation more times than he's ever wanted.

"Ain't that what I just said?" Singular brow perking up, "I said it was your look and I meant it. Now, I'm sure if you wander in there and ask them nicely then I'm sure they'd give you all the beer you wanted... long as you don't get green pixie dust everywhere."

"If I get all three then we definitely need to talk about placement. What about we wrap both the stars and butterflies and then end up with the dolphin on my upper arm? The stars and butterflies could intertwine each other." Addison thinks out loud as the idea of getting all three never crossed her mind until Dixie brought it up.

"Cherries definitely fit your vibe. We are so doing that for you. I think they would look super cute behind your ear like a peekaboo moment. And then maybe a daisy below your elbow. Or they both could be on each elbow."

Which, in hindsight, was awful and all the more reason to keep it to herself.

"A peekaboo moment would definitely be cute, but I was thinkin' of having it somewhere more visible, ya know? Like if I'm gonna get it then it's gotta be everyone's problem because they're going to be forced to see it.

"I think elbows are perfect." Hip bone was her first thought. Tramp stamp second.. but, now that she's thinking about it.. this wasn't the time. Nor place. Elbows it is.

where - logan's apartment

"Tell me not to regret giving you a key." Logan greeted as she walked inside, a take-out bag dangling off her arm. "Or at least to start charging you rent." She tacked on teasingly as she kicked off her sneakers and made her way to the couch. "Did you at least bring alcohol as a gift? Since I brought food?"

"Okay.. Don't regret givin' me a key," the blonde repeats anyway, smile extending on her features as the other walks in through the door. To be spotted with none other than her favorite person in the whole entire world (Dixie's already claimed it), comfortably on Logan's couch. Not that she should be surprised. Where else would she be?

"If you charge me rent then that means you've caved into my plea of bein' roommates," as if they weren't basically that already with how much Dixie's managed to cling onto her.

"That ain't even a question, baby. You know I did. I got that bottle of wine we had the other night. You remember it? The red one that was, like, super sweet."

location: glitter tattoo booth

"So, I'm having a hard time choosing which one would be perfect on this arm." Addison moves the only bare forearm she has closer to the menu of all the different 'tattoos' she could get. "I'm totally digging either the butterflies going up or the dolphin, but those trail of stars look so early 2000s and I can't deny myself that throwback moment."

"I was thinkin' of gettin' the cherries.... or maybe even a daisy in honor of the festival. Then again, I'm feelin' super brave and might let 'em do whatever they want to me. Long as it ain't on my face."

“ I can explain “ Nelson admitted as he greeted the other person and a pile of glitter or ‘pixie dust’ fell out of his hair. He had spent the morning on uncle duty before bringing his niece back to his brother. He would pretty much do anything Harley wanted him to do and that included somehow ending up covered in glitter at her request. It was a fun morning at the festival and he wanted to catch up with his family again later but he needed a drink. “ I have a niece who pretty much calls the shots and that’s why I look like a craft supply cart fell on me. " he thinks he's pulling off whatever glitter makeup his niece put on his face though. Green is definitely his color, its just the glitter spilling out of his hair every time he moved that might be a problem

"Personally, I think your niece did a great job and this is 100% your look, Nelly-baby," blonde teases, doing her best to bite back a laugh.

"Maybe.. if they've got, like, a quarantine zone or somethin' they could stick you in."

where: spring garden festival

"No thanks," shaking her head, "I don't put nothin' in my mouth if I don't know where it came from. For all I know, you picked that from the dirt on your way over. Maybe you should eat it."

She knows from experience.

"From what I can remember, that's around the age when I started thinkin' I knew it all and got so angry at my parents for all the dumbest things. Like havin' curfews or tellin' them who I was with all the time. Honestly, I don't even know how they put up with me," but almost as quickly as Dixie started talking, she remembers that this conversation isn't about her but rather asking for advice.

"I think you've just got to be honest with her, y'know? Lay it to her straight. You don't want to know who she's goin' on a date with because you're nosy, but simply for safety purposes. In case somethin' happens. She can't really get be mad at you because of that, right?"

"Hi! My phone froze, and I didn’t bring my wallet. Could you do me a favor and spot me $10?" Of course, as she walked into the establishment, her phone slipped from her hand, crashing against the ground, and now refused to operate, leaving her in this predicament. The employee wouldn't budge, leaving her now asking a fellow patron for help. "I promise you I'm good for the money...could give you $20 in return for your time." Who wouldn't want a double return on their offering?

"But if there's somethin' you wanna buy then I don't mind payin' for it," offered instead, gesturing toward the counter, "And it'd be on me. You can think of it as a pay it forward sorta thing. Double it for the next person and all that fun stuff."

"Jesus, okay. I'm here. Now what did you want to tell me?"

Grabbing the ends of her hair, Dixie lifts them up in the way that gives a semi-decent example of how short her intrusive thoughts were telling her.

"I was thinkin' maybe here?" Lifted high above her shoulders, but it takes one real good look at them to know she'd immediately regret that. Instead she drops them an inch or two below her collarbone, "Or here? Summer's comin' and a change is callin' my name."

Much like it always does.

"I've got whatever you need. What kinda booze are you hopin' for? I can order somethin' for you."
