So I just had the first actual day teaching students at my new job after 3 days of training and if I’m honest, I have never experienced a worse shift of my life. By the first hour I was ready to walk out it was so dogshit. Immediately my trainer/manager tried to have me teach a class by myself even though I have never observed one done before. I was under the impression I would be observing not teaching today as I have no prior experience teaching or even seeing these sorts of lessons in action. Within the first 40 minutes of my shift, the instructor/manager had called me an idiot to the general manager. She continued to yell at me for the rest of my shift about how I know nothing and how I was ruining the classes. Each class is supposed to have a memorized script which I was not given, I was told there would be cards for me to read off of and look to if I needed help, but there was none and when I asked for help or missed something during explanations, I was then yelled at and told how I must be incapable of retaining information. By the time my shift finished, I was so mentally done that I cried almost the whole drive home.

I have never walked out of a job before and prior to this point, have been an exceptional employee, however after what I experienced today, I am planning on resigning effective immediately and I wasn’t even there for a whole week.

Except I found out I might have to pay a $350 “training fee” if I quit within the first six months which honestly makes no sense as all we did was watch a few videos and go over some cards for each class we would have.
