"Get off that goddamn game!" yelled Sara. At that very moment Logan's VR helmet shut down leaving him staring into blackness. He removed his helmet to see his infuriated mother standing with the unplugged cable clutched tightly in her hand. She tossed the cable onto the carpeted floor of his bedroom. "Jeez, mom. Can't you get off my case for once?" His wishes were reasonable considering the fact that he had just completed his final year of secondary school. "Nonsense Logan. You know the rules of my household. No games before our weekly meeting." She was right and he knew it. Nothing came before the weekly meetings. In fact, Logan looked forward to these weekly meetings more than anything else in his otherwise monotonous life. There wasn't much else for a teenage boy to do in this comatose town. That was precisely the reason why Logan couldn't wait to leave this place behind. He had been dreaming of graduating from secondary school ever since his older brother Marcus left home. He missed Marcus greatly. Marcus was the father Logan never had. No wait, that isn't exactly true. Logan did have father. It's just that Logan never met him. Most children in Logan's town never did meet their fathers. Not with the war taking place. Logan understood this truth well. He had no problem accepting the fact he would most likely never meet his dad. In all likelihood his father was dead. This too, Logan had accepted as truth. These were just a few amongst the many truths he had accepted as self evident. So keeping that in mind, Logan dutifully headed downstairs to the dinning room to join in this week's meeting regarding the war. The war against sub humans.

As I sit here in my astronomy class taking place in this spacious lecture hall I ponder. As I sit here in this empty row of seats amongst dozens of students, some interested in the video playing up on stage, others lost in their own electronic devices, I ponder. As I sit here with my earphones resting snug in my ears I ponder. We are all so advance. We all are plugged into the internet. We are all one with each other. We are all aware. We are all on twitter. We are all on Facebook. We are all texting each other. We are all so connected. Yet, we are disconnected from reality. We are all one massive mind. We are all status updates. We are all comments. We are all likes. We are all advertisements. We are all google. We are all apple. We are all consumers. We are all drones. We are all so strikingly unique. We are all individuals. We are all the same. We are all the future. We are all knowledge. We are all there is. That's it. There's nothing else to see.
