“Mmmmwarmmm,” Dick said sleepily, pulling Conner down onto the bed. “Shirt off.” He fumbled with the hem of Kon’s shirt, pulling it up and burying his face in his chest. “Good,” he said, voice muffled. Once Conner pulled off his shirt the rest of the way, Dick wrapped his arms around Kon’s waist and tangled their legs together.
Dick was always like this on good nights, sweet and warm and pliant, yet strong where he nestled around him. And this was a good night, one where he wouldn’t wake up screaming and shaking and pushing Conner away. One where he could just lull himself back to sleep by listening to Kon’s breathing.
“You’re never allowed to leave again,” Dick said, quietly enough that anyone else wouldn’t have been able to hear. “I was cold and it was dumb.”
Kon chuckled. “Missed you too, babe.” Two weeks didn’t sound like such a long time on paper, but when it came to deep space missions with no contact that wasn’t funneled through three layers of Green Lanterns playing telephone, it just plain sucked.
“No more space. I’m telling B you’re grounded.”
“You can’t ground me. I’m your boyfriend.”
“B can. Or he’ll tell Clark to.”
Kon rolled his eyes and ran his fingers through Dick’s hair. “You’re cute when you’re sleepy.”
“I’m not cute,” Dick said. “I’m sexy.”
“Sure, babe,” Conner said, kissing the top of his head. Dick lifted his face, eyes still closed, for a proper kiss. He hummed his approval as Kon pressed his lips to his, raising his arms over Kon’s shoulders and cuddling impossibly closer.
“Didja have fun?” Dick said as he sprawled over him.
“You would’ve loved the stars.” Kon closed his eyes. “I’ll show you next time. It was beautiful.”
“Tell me all about it?” Dick said, lifting his head off Conner’s chest and cracking his eyes open.
“Mmm, I will. But tomorrow, babe. You’re not awake.”
Dick nodded and dropped his head back down. “Love you.”
Kon closed his eyes and nuzzled into Dick’s hair, and, for the first time in two weeks, they both slept peacefully.
