Moonlight fell over the courtyard garden, dancing on the water of the ever running fountain where a young woman sat in a white sundress, reading a book as she lay across the stone, still warm from the sun of the long sweltering day.
It had been almost a month since Dio had attacked, but Caesar's wounds were almost healed up. The slash on her side having already closed and scarred to match many other imperfections already present on her skin. She was still trying to move past what she had done.
Her physical wounds were healing at an amazing pace, but her emotional ones are away at her every time she had a chance to sit alone and think. The time that had passed was far too long, surely Dio would have come for revenge by now! She tried to cope with the fact that she may have ended his life as often as she looked in the mirror.
Her mind wanders from her book to stare at her reflection in the fountain, her hand hanging down to dip into the cold water, creating a soft foam on the surface with her bubbles.
"Dio..." She replies faintly, her hands folding in her lap. "I wouldn't consider Joseph someone I love really, he's shown no compassion for me or my feelings. I don't want him to die, but I've no real say in that matter.."
She dares to look over at him, a look of concern washed over her tired features. "Though there's something about you that I can't seem to get over.. I suppose that's the hopeless romantic in me that Joseph teases me for."
Looking back down at her hands, now clutched into tight fists. "I've had so many nightmares because of you.. not because you scared me, but because I hurt you.. just looking at you makes my scars burn, guilt clogging my throat. Even though you were going to kill Jojo you..you could have easily killed me and you didn't and I thought your mercy on me was your downfall when I split your chin open. I thought I killed you after you'd been so kind to spare me. It makes me angry.."
She places a hand on his arm very cautiously incase he snaps at her. "I can't seem to figure it out but I do want to be friends with you, even if it hurts, not to escape the hurt."
“I’ve made many fall for me with my seduction, But how you feel for me is something I can’t explain.” He sighed, closing his eyes. His guard dropping for a mere second. This was it. He was giving her a shot. A shot at ending his evil once and for all.
He did this to his servants to test their loyalty. One good Hamon punch.
Of course, She didn’t know about his Stand.
His breath was slow, Nails running across his lap.
"I suppose that may explain some part of it, but.." She smiles, resting her head against his arm. "I'm going to guess that friend is new to you.."
She notes how tense his muscles are, deciding to lay very still against him. Her breaths were sparse, too odd of a pattern to conduct hamon. She was trying not to have any in her system at all while in contact with him.
She closes her eyes, her own guard down completely as she relaxes. "I wonder if anyone can explain why I feel this way. Being friends with you just seems oddly right, even if it isn't.."
Dio would look to the side, his pale face being directed away from her gaze. “No Hamon warrior has ever attempted this tactic before.. It’s.. pitful.. But charming.” He was trying his best to stay at arms length, But it was getting harder and harder to do with every kind word that would leave her mouth. He was usually always alone, This felt so weird..
"I wouldn't call this a tactic, more of a question actually. You can frame it whatever way makes sense though, my way certainly doesn't. Still though these questions must come and go eventually or things will never be settled."
She sits up, looking up at him curiously, the moonlight sparkling in her wonderous stare. Her eyes green like a meadow he hadn't ever seen. A smile rests on her lips as she offers him her hands.
"This time I ask truthfully, though I know you mind my tactics before in your decision, would you like to be my friend, Dio?"
The words falling from her lips were accompanied by a soft pink on her cheeks. She'd wooed many men before out of boredom mostly, but Dio was different in every sense quite literally. Was it so exciting for the thought of being in danger? Or maybe it was because someone so dangerous might not want her in danger? Her head might start spinning if she thought of it too long.
“Humans are odd creatures.” He spoke softly, but in a manner which showed his determination..
“But.. I suppose having you around cannot hurt, even if you ally yourself with those.. rats.” He’d look to the side, letting out a soft sigh.
“You’ve really caught me in your web, you know that right?” He’d stand, a hand placed on his hip, like usual, eyes trailing around them, anywhere but to her. Eyes were the windows of the soul after all.
A chuckle would leave Dio.
“The last person who treated me with kindness ended up gone because of my actions, This, you should know.” Old Man Joestar. Poisoned and attacked by his own adoptive son, It certainly didn’t end well for him.
Was this a warning of some kind? Was he worried about her? Just maybe.
apologies and hiatus
sorry for barely being here, but RP has not been on my mind these days, i hope i can come back soon, but i’m not sure

Grim waited patiently for the information to arrive. She made no moves to reveal herself to her target.
Her target was located in a somewhat new building in the business sector. However, it was heavily guarded. The people inside seemed to randomly leave, during both day and night. Her target had only left the building once during the day.
Grim was resting in her room, having gone out to get herself some dinner. She was beginning to doubt dio and his ability to help her. On top of that, she was starting to get antsy.
Not too long later, He would suddenly stand besides her, It was as if he just appeared. He smirked, Pulling an envelope out. “The information you asked for.” Usually Dio didn’t do this sort of work, But he didn’t; fully trust Grim just yet. He had to test her loyalty more over the course of their partnership/
When she noticed him, she let out a small shriek of surprise. How on Earth had he done that!?
It took a few moments for her to calm down enough to notice the envelope. When she did, she tentatively held out her hand.
“Surely you would not mind if Grim confirms this is the information she needs. After all, that is a part of our deal.”
She did not trust him, either. Not only was he a supernatural being she was unfamiliar with, but he seemed to have a secretive aura about him. And those secrets may or may not be good.
“My, Of course I don’t mind. I assure you, All the information you asked for is in there. My men don’t dillydally, They’re convicted to helping out their newest family member. Isn’t that sweet of them?” He’d take a few steps towards the couch and sit down, One leg over the other, A smirk widening on his face.

Her mind wanders from her book to stare at her reflection in the fountain, her hand hanging down to dip into the cold water, creating a soft foam on the surface with her bubbles.
It had been so long.
For him, at least.
After the return to his world, his defeat and subsequent claiming of Jonathan Joestar’s body. he rested in his coffin for many years.
Until finally emerging, and he had quite the work to do,
He’d been brought back to the same place he’d visited so long ago. Luckily, it was nighttime.
His voice rang out. “Caesar Zeppeli!”
Dio would yell, His voice was the same, but his exterior.. so much different, He seemed to have changed much over so many years,
Of course, it wasn’t the same for Caesar.
Dio was suddenly standing behind her, He appeared as if from nowhere!
Chills ran up the young woman's spine as the darkness shrieked her name, hardly able to move before Dio appeared beside the fountain. She moves to sit up, her book sliding into the fountain, though she hardly seems to notice.
Her eyes are trained on him, wide emerald sparkling in the moonlight. She recognizes him, though he's changed quite a bit, his frame seems to have changed size as well. Her words come out in a tiny stutter.
"D..Dio.." She felt the guilt thinking she murdered him melt away, though the guilt for harming him in the first place bubbled up to the back of her throat in a burning sensation.
"You're okay.." She beams, a smile spreading onto her lips as she stares up at him, though the realization of why he's really here hits her like a truck. He wants revenge of course, though her smile refuses to falter as she gazes up at him even knowing what's to come.
There seems to be something in his chest pocket, But he doesn’t seem to pay much attention to it.
Dio would grin. “Have you missed me? You seem almost glad to see me.. Odd. Is your wish for death that grand? I’d be glad to fulfill it~”
He spoke in a low, seductive tone,
It was odd, standing here again after so long.
“In my world, Hundreds of years have passed, It’s pleasure to see you again, For multiple reasons.”
"I just.." Was her infatuation with him a death wish? She really didn't know anymore.
"It..was foolish of me to think.. that I might've actually hurt you enough to end your life.." She stands up, her tiny frame shadowed by his as she stares up at him.
"I do regret my actions to some extent but it's lovely to see you've healed your wounds so well.." Caesar began to walk away from him, towards the flower bed as she spoke.
"I suppose if you want to kill me, you can, but I will ask what might've stopped you from doing it the last time we spoke. It's been bothering me ever since.." She sits beside the flowers, looking up at him..
"Why did you spare me, Dio?"
A grunt.
To anyone else, He could just tell them he wanted to manipulate them, use them for his own selfish gains, Yet with Caesar, This was impossible for him to do.
She reminded him of a person he’d lost long ago, The only person he ever loved.
That was the reason.
“You simply remind me of someone.” Dio had his guard fully up, Ready to protect any information that could make him seem weak.
Any information about his truest feelings were what he wished so desperately to hide.
"Oh?" Caesar's voice fell on soft notes, gesturing him over to come sit with her. "I'm sorry if I remind you of something that hurts, though just because someone reminds you of something doesn't mean it should stop you from acting like yourself."
She runs her fingers over petals on a rose bush, her delicate touch dancing over thorns. "I don't know what's stopping me, you don't remind me of anyone. Maybe that's a good thing, I've found myself growing fond at the idea you spared me for some other reasons deep in your heart."
She glances at him curiously. "Whoever I remind you of must at least have a place there, in your cold heart.. and I'm sorry my resemblance seems to be holding you back, however that may be for the best." Her hand slips as she speaks, a thorn pricks her finger to which she doesn't react.
"Maybe you won't want to kill me for long enough that I become my own person in your mind, friend or foe it might help you move on from the reminder. Though truthfully speaking I would prefer friends, mostly because foe will likely kill me.."
Friendship was an odd concept for Dio.
He had a friend, Named Pucci, But it was different, She was an ally to the Joestars, Aka an enemy.
“Are you just trying to get me not to harm you..? What would you gain out of companionship with one who’s trying to exterminate those you care for?” Dio would ask, Face looking rather confused, He just didn’t understand. He couldn’t understand.
But, He’d at least agree to sit down with her, One leg crossing over the other as he watched the water fountain before them. This place was peaceful, Tranquil.

Dio was suddenly standing behind her, He appeared as if from nowhere!
A short starter
@skippy-says-hello
He stared at the other, a confused look on his face.
“And who might you be?”
She doubted all of her problems would be dealt with. But, she could use the help with her target. Especially in this place.
Yet, all the same, she needed to be cautious. This man was not human. She did not know what would be expected of her in his ‘family’. Could be something she would be uncomfortable with.
“And what would you gain if Grim does join your family? One can never be too careful with such agreements.”
She needed to know what she was getting into. She did not even know if merely saying she would join him would be enough!
“My protection is of the upmost importantance, so is keeping a certain family away from me.”
He’d say, a tiny bit of malice in his tone.
“My body.. My body once belonged to another man. It’s not fully mine just yet. So it’s weak.”
He said ‘weak’ with a little bit of anger.
Dio wished it wasn’t so, but it couldn’t be helped. Simple as that.
“You also have the choice of providing me with the precious wine of your body.. But that’s optional, many wish to share some of it with me; their lord.”
She noticed his tone as he was speaking. He seemed... A bit upset over his situation.
And could she blame him? Particularly since he was weaker than he, most likely, normally was.
Then he mentioned the ‘wine’ of her body. Did he... Did he mean blood? That certainly narrowed down what he was. And the fact she met him at night... Most likely a vampire.
“...Very well. So long as you keep your end of this agreement, Grim will keep hers.”
“Of course, I would never betray a member of our family.” He’d wrap a gentle arm around the other. smiling. “Mademoiselle, Please, Tell me all about who you’re looking for.”
He was indeed very upset at the situation he was currently in, Even if he was trying to hide it. Which didn’t really work. Dio was never good at hiding his anger or frustrations from people, Even if he’d gotten better at it.
She tended slightly when she felt his arm around her. It was more than obvious she did not like close contact with strangers, especially strange men. Even if she was going to work for him.
“W-Well... he is a demon, specifically one called the Ugallu. They are mostly associated with storms, but this one has more to do with time. He leads a gang called the TORDs. They are best known for stealing powerful ancient artifacts, be they in museums or in private collections.”
She believed that would be as sufficient as she could possibly make it. After all, she had only arrived that night.
“Hmm.” A snap of his fingers. “I’ve sent my men on it.” He spoke with a sly smile decorating his face.
“I’m simply going to wait until I hear back from them. They should have the information you request soon enough.” He’d look back at the darkness behind him.
“Or else.”
“Th-Thank you... erm... Would you mind letting Grim go?”
She was feeling... awkward in his grip. She did not know what his intentions were, nor did she really know him that well.
Made her a bit uncomfortable. Particularly with that smile adorning his face.
Dio was good at making people uncomfortable.
He’d take a step back, Chuckling. “Excuse me, Mademoiselle, I just couldn’t help but try and comfort you.”
A swift bow would be given,
“Your desire will be fulfilled, I’ll let you know by letter.” Phones exist, Dio.
“Thank you, Dio. Grim will find a hotel to stay in for the rest of the night.”
How was he even going to find her? She shrugged, starting towards the direction they had come in.
She was fully aware that phones existed in this time. But she would not suggest calling her. He may not be comfortable with them.
She could not help but wonder just what she got into. The man was obviously a vampire. He was also really good at sweet talking. Probably manipulative. And then there was mention of a family he was against... It was probably going to be very different to what she was used to.
“Perfect. Perfect!” He said in a jolly manner.
“My men will find out your location so I can mail you.”
A phone: Dio didn’t even know they existed, Or how to use one.
“And try not to worry your little head too much, You’ll be just fine.” He spoke as he led the other outside, Hands behind his back in a proper manner.

Thunder rolled in the distance, black clouds crawling over the sea slowly creeping towards the island. Though the thunder was loud, the noises downstairs were not masked by it no matter how soft they might've been. Having been sitting outside on the balcony to watch the incoming storm, Caesar heard something like glass breaking coming from the first floor. A heavy sigh brings her from her seat, setting her tea on the patio table nearby. She goes back in through her room and towards the large staircase.
"Jojo!" Her voice calls in a hiss, quietly echoing through the large downstairs that was shrouded in darkness. A curtain bellowing in the wind, the window having been broken into. "I don't care how long you train but do it quietly you'll wake the dead, idiot.." She grumbles, her eyes darting around as her bare feet reach the cold wooden floor of the last step.
Not once until that moment did she consider that it might not be that big idiot breaking into his own home. Not until a chill went up her spin, sending her breathing pattern into a spin as she grasps the railing post. What if it wasn't jojo? Fuck the element of surprise was never her strong suit anyways but whoever they were it was so dark they could come from ANY direction.
Dio's chin! What the hell happened to it? Was that the effect of hamon on a vampire? Did it sting? It was almost mesmerizing, though Dio shrieking at the top of his lung pulled her out of her confused daze in time to roll away from whatever the hell that is and down the stairs onto her back, letting out a sharp scream mostly in surprise.
Did he hit her? Her arm was stinging, perhaps even being close to it was enough to do some damage. She stands on her feet, looking up at him once more.
"A little hard with your hands all the way up there, isn't it?! Pull your tail from between your legs and come fight me, Dio!"
Caesar sends a few bubbles hurdling up towards him, though they were rather weak and slow. She didn't have much soap on her as she tried to let her skin have a break from it in the night.
There's been an awful lot of yelling going on... where are her masters?! Have they taken Jojo and fled? Surely the 5 of them, 4 being talented hamon users, could take on one vampire. So where are they? Have they left her behind knowing something more about Dio's strength than her, something they might fear?
“How.. DARE you!?”
He’d growl, Crawling up the wall and hissing all the way as he crawled into the broken skylight, Narrowly avoiding all but one bubble, which burns against his back, letting a scream come from him.
“You and your dirty Hamon tricks.. I’ll.. I’ll rip you in half!” He promised, standing up as he reached the roof.
“I’ll come back for you and your precious ‘JoJo’~!”
And like that, He jumped off of the building. disappearing in the night.
“Damn it, I can’t fight her! What spell has that witch put me under?!”
He’d let out under his breath.
“I could’ve easily ended her but.. something stopped me.” Hiss.
“What could it possibly be? I must get rid of this weakness.”
A short starter
@skippy-says-hello

Fuck the element of surprise was never her strong suit anyways but whoever they were it was so dark they could come from ANY direction.
"I'm not mocking you!" Caesar stands up straight, taking a step forward with her hands out. "I don't--"
Caesar freezes up a bit, her eyes widening. Dio was a monster, the true reason her grandfather had died so long ago, he was a murderer. Yet there she sat, unable to summon an ounce of hamon against him for what reason? Deep down Caesar always knew even if her grandfather had lived her family would have likely fallen apart as it had regardless. She shouldn't be blaming others for her mother's mistake.
Perhaps that's why she found herself at a standstill with herself alone, her hands falling back from her attempt to calm him down to clutch her shirt near her chest as she attempted to process what she wanted to say to him. He likely wouldn't even care about what's happening.
"I don't want you to die.." The words fell from her lips effortlessly unlike before she mulled it over, her eyes reaching his own again. Tears welled up in her eyes as she tries to find the words to explain herself. "They've killed some of the few people I care for most..and likely more people I don't even know. Life shouldn't be like this, I don't want them to kill anyone else and... and Joseph probably won't kill you tonight after I fail to stop you.. I'm going to fail.. I can't find my breath for you, my hamon is useless, but if you intend to pass me up these steps I will do all I can to try to protect you from what lies beyond them and this day."
“Fight me!” Dio spoke.
“Show me the power of your hamon and rip me apart! Show the power that white charlatan told me would be my undoing! So many years ago!” Zeppeli. He was talking about her family.
He was more talking about himself than anything, But Dio was in all reality the reason her family fell apart, But she was correct. His fate was set in stone, No Dio wouldn’t have changed anything, No Joestar could’ve changed anything.
“Listen, mademoiselle, I am going to rip through you, But it doesn’t have to be a bad thing...”
“Join me, I can help you get past your emotions, Your limitation. Join me and be the very first member of my family in this world.. BECOME ONE OF MY ZOMBIES!”
He’d scream. darkness oozing from every bit of his being as he sprinted up again, two fingers ready to start sucking her blood.
It seems he was intent on getting past her.
Dio was sadly a man of no mercy, And any ‘mercy’ he did offer seemed to help him in some way.
He didn't care, she was right. She couldn't fault him for not caring about anything other than himself, they were supposed to be enemies after all. Drawing a deep breath as he starts his monologue about ripping her to pieces, Caesar begins to regain her composure as well as her hamon energy.
She steps backwards, falling onto the stairs as he comes crashing down towards her. She uses the stair at her back for leverage in her kick, bring a foot up to strike him in the chin as he drew near. If she hadn't been leaning on the stairs she would have just lost her balance trying to kick a much larger foe, but with the added energy of hamon once again coursing through her she just might be able to divert wherever those fingers might land.
"Dio! My family's name does not belong on your lips!"
“Your family-?” The kick did indeed send him flying up into the air, The hamon even increased the power of his launch.
The hamon to the chin caused it to get grinded off, A red, lava-looking substance where his chin used to be.
Using one of his claws, He gripped onto the ceiling and perched upon it upside-down like a bat, A hiss coming from him. “How dare you.. ruin my face!? I’ll fix this injury with your blood!”
The vampire pointed towards her.
“Your charlatan of an ancestor’s life ended by one of my men, Yet you’ll die by my hand, Aren’t you excited!? Aren’t you honored?!” He jumped from the ceiling and let Vaporizing Freeze shoot from his eyes mid-fall, aiming right for her neck and chest area.
If it hit, It’d surely be fatal,
Luckily, Dio was far away, So dodging was one hundred percent possible by someone with the reflexes to pull it off.
