Clearly it's a title that's meant to attract clicks from Abby haters under the violence porn of getting joy ? Out of watching "Abby's" dog, "boyfriend" and "friend" die. And I feel like the fact that videos like this exist, the multiple "Abby death" compilations on YouTube show how the mass of people who go out of their way to despise Abby are people who carry a generally unhealthy mindset - people who come to video games FOR violence, for a male power fantasy, for this alternate world where they can mow down enemies and slash their throats and not give a fuck about the consequences.

And ND presented this story where we are very much shown the consequences - Ellie's PTSD. Abby going out of her way to kill one of the fandom's favorite characters because of that previous streak of violence that some people loved - because you played as Joel, technically, Abby bashing Joel's head in was YOUR consequences. And now the fans who only enjoy video games to have this sense of almighty power and to just kill their enemies blindly, not to see the emotions and enjoy the story that is being told- especially if that is a story of regret and forgiveness, are all fucking booing and making Abby death compilations and watching them on repeat because THAT'S the content they want.

Destruction with no consequences. No reflection.

And it's very easy to see what types of people just go around without reflecting on anything, including themselves, at all.

this game is some of the best writing i’ve ever seen. the game itself is beautifully written and it makes me upset how people treat this game. half the time you’re not supposed to feel good. when you’re fighting abby or ellie, it’s not supposed to feel good. it’s supposed to make you feel shitty and like everything you’re doing is wrong. and that’s on good story writing ✨

in conclusion i’m sick of people hating abby because of joel. joel didn’t even have a bad death. personally, i think it’s one of the best written most memorable deaths in any video game i’ve played. people who are saying that “he should’ve went down in flames” don’t understand how well written and how beautifully his death was executed.
