I'm Brooklyn. I'm a traditional artist and professional graphic design & digital media designer and I love to collect things. This blog will serve as a digital media archive and personal digital diary.
Here I will reblog things I love, and post stuff too. I post from credited digital archive sources and my own personal collection that I have developed for over 14 years, and I release my own assets that are free to use such as original graphics and recolors of sourced material.

FAQ: Requests
How long can a request take to fulfill?
Ideally, I like to respond to requests within a week, but it can take longer. The timeline for each request is different due to a few factors.
Why and how much do they vary?
Timelines vary according to type of graphics requested, how many requests I have in the queue, and the posting schedule that I have planned, and if I am online less often the schedule shifts.
Can I get an update about my request? What about if I made it anonymously?
YES! Please send me a follow up message if you would like an update. Otherwise, I will post it as normal when I am able to complete it.
If you would like, you can also temporarily track the tag [#digitalhiccup requests] by clicking here and then untrack it once you get your request.
What kinds of things can I request?
You can request what you would like, but please be advised that the final assets will be decided by me. The more detail you can give me the better: colors, font choices, sizes, anything. Or, you can ask me to freestyle it.
For example: please do not ask for 20 graphics in one request and expect all 20. I am but one woman and my computer sleeps more than I do.
Is there anything you won’t make?
Generally speaking I will not produce content that heavily focuses on, glorifies, or imposes harmful rhetoric or actions on systemically marginalized communities that I believe drives a negative narrative. I am within my right to decline any requests that I am not comfortable with making. I do this for the love of the game.
When will requests open again?
I cannot say at the moment for sure, but I am collecting an interest list for anyone who would like to be notified by ping when requests open again! Like this post or send an ask to be added to the interest list
Can I make requests when requests are closed?
Please avoid doing so. A request made when I am not accepting them will likely not be completed. You can like this post to be added to the interest list for when requests open again.
Hello all digital hiccups! Bumping this to the top as I return from my hiatus. I added an additional item to the FAQ that asks to please avoid making requests when I am not accepting them. Any requests made during a closed period run the risk of not being completed.

god, i love making blinkies for stuff i enjoy <3. after my recent bruce wayne dream (who did NAWT look like adam west btw #sad), i wanted to make some blinkies about the best show ever made. i was thinking of doing joker, robin, batgirl, catwoman, etc etc. but i thought i would start with batman himself. maybe ill make this into a series! who knows!
the animation wasnt that hard, but man the third one broke my brain. also i was going to use a font called "adam west," but then the website wanted my info for a FREE FONT like i was going to PURCHASE IT and mail it to my HOUSE. no thank yew <3. so i found some other fonts that look better anyways.

hi! just curious… i really want to pursue graphic design but im rlly scared with whats been happening lately with ai 😵💫 do you think its worth it as a graphic designer urself?
Hi there!!! This is such an important issue to me, and I am honored that you are wondering my opinion.
This is gonna be a bit of a longer reply, because I really want to encourage you and maybe settle some fears you have. I hope that you find some of the advice you were looking for in my answer :) <3
I would never want to discourage someone from following their passions, though I do believe it's smart to be aware of the state of the field.
Honestly, knowing everything I know now, if I could go back and say something to myself around college decision time I would simply say pick up as many skills as you can, and do not cage yourself into thinking that you need to find one type of job after school ends. There are so many ways to be a designer.
Another special thing about this discipline is that you can be a designer without formally studying it at all. You can quite literally teach yourself most things. I know because that's exactly what I did before I became a professional.
From 12-18 I was a hobbyist and taught myself everything that I ended up learning in university. No joke. I knew how to code a website, use photoshop, the terminology in the industry. All from straight PASSION. Then when I got to college, I got to improve my workflow and fix the errors of my habits as I learned the "professional" and "correct" way to do things. YOU CAN TOTALLY DO THAT!!! In the arts talent and dedication can sometimes outweigh age & experience.
Graphic Design has evolved over the years and can mean anything from web development, printing, proofing and editing, art direction & creative design solutions, working in the gaming industry, being a wedding designer, making downloadable worksheets, etc. There are so many ways to be a designer!
Many businesses are pushing AI and automation, and even using AI in place of entire design teams.
At this point, it is quite literally out of our hands with how pervasive AI is going to be not even just in graphic design but everything that design itself touches. I've seen AI commercials for all types of content.
But: it looks so limited. Human creativity CANNOT be produced by a machine, it can only be replicated.
At the end of the day, there will still be people called in to make creative decisions, to lead art direction, and to manage design teams. I'm not sure what it will look like in the future, but as a young professional I can tell you right now that it's extremely different than it was even just a few years ago.
Personally speaking, I think you should follow your heart, and remember that you can pivot at any point in time. I graduated with a degree in graphic design with a minor in professional communications, and I went on to become a licensed middle school visual arts teacher, a camp arts & crafts director, and then a designer for print/digital advertisements. There are so many ways to use your talents, and with design you have a perfect segue into advertising and marketing, graphic design's more "stable" sister.
With the rise of AI and the businesses pushing it the field has become EXTREMELY competitive, even more so than before. According to the 2025 World Economics Forum, Graphic Design is one of the top fastest-shrinking jobs simply because of the rise of AI. It's scary out here. But, if you truly are passionate about it, it's not impossible.
For me, I would still study graphic design all over again knowing what I know now just because I simply love it so much. And honestly if I couldn't work another design job a day in my life I would be okay because since i love it so much, I can always do it on my free time, and that's why I studied it.
Because it was the only field, the only job, that I thought "I don't care WHAT I do, I'll love it all the same."
If graphic design is that for you: follow it. I literally wouldn't give half a shit if my entire 8 hrs shift every day was checking the printing press and lining plates up to print something. The discipline is just fascinating to me, I don't care what part of the process I'm in.
I do want you to know that you can also study design on your own, pick a more 'secure' field, and still work as a freelancer! In design, though a degree is highly valued, it is really a discipline where talent and dedication shine in your portfolio, even if you have no experience. You can freelance your way into a bunch of opportunities, and create your own opportunities for design. You can have a day job, and use design as your creative outlet.

I started studying design when I was 12 because I was on tumblr at the time and thought it was awesome.
As long as you love what you do, I don't think any time will be wasted. Be cautious, but don't let anything stop you from following your heart.

My impromptu hiatus has come to a close and it was certainly not at the hands of a dying game that I played as a kid that i immediately got back into and went nuts trading and grinding to level up because why would it be that???
