For the last 6 months, I’ve been looking at them with tenderness and admiration. For me they symbolize not death, but a moment of divine appeasement - a moment of transition; their shells are seized with calm acceptance of irreversibility. Even though their spirit is already somewhere else, their pressed bodies are enigmatic.

 My name is Natalya Repetatska and I live in Kiev, Ukraine. Strangely and mysteriously dead flowers in my room are intertwining with events taking place in my country. There’s no greater contrast than life and death, there’s no greater desire for people than for justice and freedom, there’s no greater appetite of dictatorship than to enrich itself and to exterminate will, individuality and lives of people.

If life is fragile like a flower, then hope is so much more delicate. And people of Ukraine are armed only with their fragile lights of hope. When some define events in Ukraine as a “revolution”, to me it is the evolution of the consciousness of my people. Flowers magically come to life, as nothing disappears, but moves from one form to another. So do my flowers, they come to life with the help of digital software. Dead flowers – become digital - and digital –become melted and melted flowers - become cosmic.
