My favourite Ent, looking especially cryptid-esque as they stalk off into the depths of the forest. Shot with an automatic polaroid land camera model 100, on the beloved 669 polaroid film. https://www.instagram.com/p/CAtJYVWgN-W/?igshid=h2uqaaw1xbrn

Double exposed self portrait as Janus, Roman deity of presiding over all beginnings and transitions, whether abstract or concrete, sacred or profane. . I've been focused on a non-photogaphy art project for the first time in awhile. I'm excited to share it with y'all, but in the mean time I've not been too active here. I'm still shooting though, and I've still got new photos to show y'all. Staaaay tuned! https://www.instagram.com/p/CAHFb6iAsB9/?igshid=t5288riy8tsa
Today is Edwin Land's birthday, the inventor who the came up with the concept that is behind the polaroid photograph. . . . The story goes that he was walking on the beach with his daughter, and he took her photo. She asked to see the image, and he said she couldn't. She asked why, and so, after mulling it over for an hour, he had conceived of a way to do it. And thus began the age of instant photography, launched in 1947. I pulled out my Polaroid Land Camera (which carries his name) and some old polaroid 669 film, and shot this in the backyard, as a tribute. Thanks Edwin! https://www.instagram.com/p/B_6Nnx-g0hM/?igshid=15mv7xig1sx2v
I know nobody wants to see snow right now, but who can you say no to this wholesome little jaunt through the park, from back when that was permitted. Complete with joyful dogs, and proof that we used to be able to visit with our friends. Shot on 8mm film, a first for me! Thanks to @filmphotographyproject for hooking me up with the film, and processing it for me, too. π½ https://www.instagram.com/p/B_f6TlrgpI_/?igshid=1106qv3e7olzx
A very different portrait of renΓ©e from the last one, shot on the same very expired Polaroid film that produced the dud in my previous post. Taken using a polaroid 660, one of those cameras with the sweet sonar-based autofocus. Look it up, they're so cool. For polaroid week. https://www.instagram.com/p/B_TlrO0g4Qb/?igshid=moipl6it1wc0

When the expired Polaroid film that comes in a new to you camera gives you a total dud, you dig your claws into it and make it even worse/better. For polaroid week. https://www.instagram.com/p/B_RGyaXAuPi/?igshid=1mm70gzwe2hi9
Portrait of renΓ©e, from the Before Times. For polaroid week, shot on really expired impossible project film, in my good ol' folding sx70 camera. Finally remembered the exposure control on the camera, so this one isn't hella overexposed. https://www.instagram.com/p/B_OD7GMgHje/?igshid=1wl1iln11gv4l
Cute metal friend sleeping the winter away. Fear not, thou bus, warmer weather is at hand. https://www.instagram.com/p/B_EMeg_gCz7/?igshid=1vyulatw41vj
He heard that the position of Grumpy Cat Is now vacant, and would like to apply for the job. . . . Overexposed impossible project film, still kicking despite being 6 years expired. Shot in my beloved folding sx70 camera. https://www.instagram.com/p/B_D_CtlgOXu/?igshid=r82v86zyk2q7
Another favourite tree, don't even need to leave my house to see this one. π https://www.instagram.com/p/B-0w0augs6G/?igshid=16epyh7s0eqsm

At least we can still hang out with trees. π³ . . (The beloved Ent of riding mountain, captured on 6 year expired impossible project film, with a folding sx70 polaroid camera.) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-yL7I8g_9b/?igshid=ykx555kpyx9u

Same steering wheel, different camera. https://www.instagram.com/p/B-OPIvshgUC/?igshid=lykm2vuvsqqy
And now for contrast, some of the same sights shot on the same day, this time with the pentax auto 110 and some quite expired kodak VR 110 film. Love these silos. https://www.instagram.com/p/B-OJiPGBXOM/?igshid=vkkkecylhgm4
Every year I remind myself of my intention to shoot self portraits on or near my birthday. This is the first time in as many as 7 years I've actually gotten around to it. Featuring unwashed hair that is frizzy af, and old studio lights with expensive bulbs, one of which burnt out during this shoot. So it goes. https://www.instagram.com/p/B9hZe1_hMHA/?igshid=shyma4oa8zro

My favourite bridge in dauphin, double exposed against the nearby trees reaching down from the sky. Shot on the aforementioned poor, beleaguered instax square film, using the lomo'instant square. https://www.instagram.com/p/B9NCAwyBqL_/?igshid=1axo13asokmd
I've had this issue with my lomo'instant square camera where the back will pop open and the film cartridge will fall out. This happened a couple weeks ago while I was at festivale. I discovered the missing film while in line for food in a crowded tent. I figured it was a lost cause, shrugged my shoulders. Easily ten minutes later, sitting with our food, I found the film sitting in the woodchips under our table. Popped in back in, ejected the picture that had been directly exposed to light, and decided to gamble on the remaining photos still having some life to them. And sure enough! Triple exposure of some young aspen trees, managing to make an appearance despite the ordeal the film went through. Yet another reason I love analog photography; mistakes and tragedies can still produce images of sorts. https://www.instagram.com/p/B9M__DBB2_u/?igshid=iwf1fkzaszgi
