the whole industry is busted and everywhere is doing this same awful strategy of laying people off the minute a game ships to maximize shareholder profit, so it feels hard to articulate why this sucks particularly. i guess its that the mismanagement and mistreatment felt so blatant. its gruelling seeing creative people take the hit over and over again. maybe things got better with unionizing, but this just feels like a fresh batch of artists and writers and designers who likely went through the same shit argo and dora wrote about. studios dont need to treat workers like shit to make games, and its a waste of the talent and time on earth of the creatives who actually make the product being sold. we could have good games made by people who aren't left worse by the experience, but we dont because of the greed of a handful of shitty men with too much money and contempt for art.

hey guysss so unfortunately the rumors are true and im leaving the narrative. Buttt the good news is my absence will create such a gaping hole in your lives that it will become a sort of presence itself, and so in a way it will kind of be like i never left! But i am. Leaving just to be clear.
