I’ve just learned that the wonderful animal shelter that I worked at all throughout high school is closing due to Sandy and budget issues. Sayreville Pet Adoption Center is a fantastic place—a no-kill shelter—full of fantastic people who always did their best to care for any animals that came across their path. As a result of the closing, the more than 80 cats and dogs all need a home, and they are all up for adoption with NO adoption fee, complete with shots, bloodwork, spay/neuter and the works. Seriously, there is absolutely ZERO adoption fee, if you’ll give them a good home. Please let everyone/anyone know who may be a good home for a cat or dog!! You can look at them here: http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/NJ63.html
That pic is an old one of me an Zero after I adopted him from Sayreville, and it really was such a great place. Any cats that didn’t get adopted ended up living at the shelter and having free roam of the place, totally content to call the shelter their home. Otherwise, the workers would often end up adopting animals themselves, if no one else would give them a home. They saved so many animals. Please spread the word that these aminals need homes! Also, if anyone has any ideas about how to get them adopted, I’m open to them. It may not go well if they don’t all get adopted by the end of the month, but I’ve never thrown an event for something like this. I’m open to advice or help to do something about it.
