Diary of A Dash

Sadly, sometimes the people who take permanent residence in your heart will be the ones who walk very temporarily with you in your life.

This is how you swallow courage and spit out pain. You feel it, all the way to those sinews within you. You learn from it, when it crescendos through your blood. You allow it to end at its own pace like a tragic symphony does. Then you take what it has left behind, the lesson that is the courage and you use that movement, that bravery to spit out the heartache.

You kiss mouths less holy than your own and realise too late how the sky still tastes the same blue with or without their unhallowed touch, and how the God you are looking for in them resides in your own hands, your own lips, your own tender fingers.

Her mother told her she could grow up to be anything she wanted be, so she grew up to become the strongest of the strong, the strangest of the strange, the wildest of the wild, the wolf leading wolves.
